BFI Members booking opened today.

Already very few seats left, so likely to be none left by the time booking opens to the general public next week.

If you put "BFI membership" in your cart and then go to the event page you can have a look at what seats are left.

There were about two dozen along the sides of the auditorium when I checked yesterday.

They do get returned seats for BFI events though, so worth checking from time to time to see if any have become available.

Dame Diana was at Farnborough on Thursday to witness the departure of Tracey Curtis-Taylor in her 1942 Boeing Stearman biplane.

I've no idea who that is she is with!

More about Tracey Curtis-Taylor at birdinabiplane.com and on Facebook facebook.com/birdinabiplane. A bit of a real life Emma Peel herself!

Margo

Its the British Film Institute, who have research facilities and hold events at the National Film Theatre on the south bank of the River Thames in London.
If you're a member you get first chance to attend events like this one. They did one for Brian Clemens several years ago.

Thanks Mike. I guess it pays to be a member if the events are interesting.

They did a couple of Clemens ones, One for The Avengers and one for the rest of his career.

Yes, I was at both of those. I've hopefully got a ticket for DDR thanks to a generous friend of mine.

I did phone the box office at 11.30am (OK 11.28am) on the off chance, got through at 11.34 to be told they are sold out, and the BFI lady said she had just told the previous caller the same thing.

Oh well, at least I got to open her bottle of water for her at the Watermill a couple of years ago - but then she didn't talk about The Avengers.

Hopefully someone will be able to report back after the event.

Worth keeping an eye on the website from time to time as sometimes the odd returned tickets becomes available again.

I keep checking the website, but still sold out. Sad Looks like I won't be attending. If anyone does go, I'd love to hear what Diana has to say about The Avengers. Hopefully she will tread the boards in the UK one more time, so I can finally get to see the great lady in person. Rich.

On the way home from this now - Diana was on great form. I probably won't get chance to post up an in depth review until tomorrow but will do as soon as I can.
