I thought it'd be fun to start a thread for trivia questions to test each other's Avengers knowledge. No prizes--just the satisfaction of knowing the answer (and it can distract you from things you should be doing that sadly have very little to do with John Steed).
I'll start us off, but everyone's welcome to chip in and add a question of their own. Just make sure you quote the question in your answers. Otherwise it could get confusing.
Here we go:
While Patrick Macnee is the quintessential Steed, by no means is he the only actor to take on the role. Who are the five other actors who have played Steed?
There's a bit of a trick to this one, and I'd like to see if anyone gets it. Good luck! _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

Donald Monat (Radio Series), Simon Oates (Stage Play), Ralph Fiennes (Movie), Freddie Jones (Who's Who?)...
Can't think who the fifth is, though... _________________ Alan

How about George Lane Cooper, the huge bald stunt guy with the handle bar moustache, who it was thought for some reason would fool the other agent into thinking he was Steed in Hostage? _________________ You check the files, I'll check my memories. |

Good thinking! Do you know even though it was a spoof Simon Williams was great! |

Oh, you got Freddie! I wondered if anyone would remember him.
There are lots of other answers, obviously, if you count stuntmen and body doubles and such, although they're not "actors" in the strictest sense. And if we count spoofs, we have to add Joanna Lumley on The Friday Night Project.
But who's number 5? Give up?
I was thinking of actor Maurice Kaufmann, Honor's husband, who used play Steed's part so Honor could learn her lines. (I did say there was a trick. I know, it's playing dirty).
Anyone want to make up the next one? _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

That was very tricky and I, for one would have never, ever got that one! |

Perhaps too tricky. Sorry! But I wanted to see if anyone else had read about Maurice working with Honor at home. I think he may have even used an umbrella to get into character. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

Or to quote Mrs Peel in 'The Town of No Return': 'That was very, very dirty!' |

I would have never thought of that either! It was a good trick question, Timeless. _________________ Allen |

Ah, I can see I'm not good at making up difficult trivia questions out of episodes. Alright, let's see... how many times does Steed touch his hat in the epis.... oh, forget it! _________________ "Welcome my lord. Allow me." |

Well, I propose another question if you want (just one) :
In which episode we can discover another room of Tara's appartment ?
There are other rooms, the first one has a white door and the second one has a purple door.
In an episode, we see one of these rooms, but we can only see few things.
Well, in which episode ? _________________ I've been blessed by The Avengers! |
