Very welcome news, of course.
Please note that the replacement programme is open to all purchasers, not just those in the UK. Please ensure that you include your full address when sending in (whether you're in the UK or overseas). For international delivery, please allow a little longer than stated above. _________________ Alan

Does this mean that if you buy a new set now, that all the discs will work properly? Or are the old boxes with dodgy discs still being sold? _________________ My Joanna Lumley Fan Forum |

No, the retailers will not return stock they are holding to Optimum. Hence, why buyers will need to return them. When the set goes onto repress, the new discs will replace the old discs. |

Thanks for your tireless efforts with this, Jaz (in addition to all the error-checking and preparation of upcoming sets). Very nifty work indeed. _________________ Last watched: Tunnel of Fear. |

Great news! Thank you very much to everyone involved (and the set's still brilliant. Loving the Julie Stevens intros. I still like Venus. ) _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

Please note, I think there may be an error in the announcement and it should be Disc 3, rather than 2 that should be sent back.
Just awaiting confirmation of that... _________________ Alan

I believe that you're right as Propellant 23 is on disc 3. |

Now confirmed - it should've been disc 3 and not disc 2. Sincere apologies for the error. Jaz will endeavour to ensure that any disc 2s sent in error as a result of the announcement will have them returned.
So the discs to send off should be 3, 6 and 7. _________________ Alan

No worries, I don't think anyone is that quick off the mark! I'll aim to send them after the Christmas rush period, less chance of them getting lost, delayed or damaged... _________________ Last watched: Tunnel of Fear. |

I posted my discs off yesterday after seeing Jaz's initial announcement, but I'm going to wait until after Christmas before sending off Disc 3. |

Probably a stupid question but do we send them in the amarays or just the discs themselves?
On a less stupid note, I received this set for christmas and it was an absolute joy to watch "new" episodes after all this time (having never seen all of season two and only "The Frighteners" from season one). The sound and picture quality is amazing and I just loved "Girl On A Trapeze"! If only more episodes survived, I loved seeing the pairing of Keel and Carol on an adventure of their own. Quite amazing when you think a series that is almost 50 years old is still thrilling and entertaining audiences, well this very excited audience anyway!
Well done for all involved on this set, (who cares if there was a hiccup when the end result is this good!) and roll on new year to see what surprises are to come! |
