So, we have to wait until June for this wonderful season. In fact, I have already all the series on DVD Canal (kiosque/Newsstand) but I want season four (my favourite one) as perfect as possible. It is the only one I will buy again.

Triple dip for me after the Contender set and the Emma Peel Megaset. Madness ... Rolling Eyes

From a highly selfish point of view Evil or Very Mad it's good for me cos I'm still on Series 2 (hoping to buy Series 3 really soon!)

I prefer them to take their time with the releases anyway - more time to get the commentaries/interviews together.

One of the hardest finds from this season on are the scripts. At Teddington Studios the scripts were typed 'in-house' but in the film era they weren't and therefore relatively few copies were produced.

I found this on Vimeo. Is this what the new UK DVD release of series 4 looks like? Super cool leader! Love the effects!

No, that's quite old, actually. I remember it being posted on one of the older iterations of the forum. As the description states, it was produced for the aborted 2Entertain releases, so nothing to do with the new Optimum sets. It's a lovely clip, though.

Thanks for the kind comments about my Avengers animation. It was created when 2Entertain were looking at releasing the series.

Whereas that will not be featured i have created a new Avengers animation based on John Stamp's graphics for the trailer to announce the 4th series on ITV in 1965. It's a "recreation" and has been animated in a very Avengers and 1965 rostrum camera way! It'll be on the 4th series set.

And it's bloody brilliant, too! Paul has done a sterling job on it. Cool

Great video, very Avengerish and yet original. I especially like the mixture of season three and four title sequence elements.

Do you have a downloadable version, I would like to have it on file, so it's doesn't go lost should it be removed from the internet.

That's great stuff Paul! Looks like a real enhancement to the Season 4 Box Set!

For those that have asked here are a few stills from the 30 second "The Avengers are back" trail which i've created for the series 4 box set. Originally shown in September 1965 on ITV my interpretation of John Stamp's original (which no longer exists) is one of the extras on the series 4 box set available in June.

I am terribly envious of you Brits with these Optimum additions and terribly frustrated with the region restrictions. It's so ridiculous when they created these region restrictions. THere is a market for the show in R1 areas since the Avengers was 1 of the first TV shows they released on DVD way back when. However back then the price was high and they invested very little in extras in those days.

The Avenegers is not the first set of DVDs which ended up being inferior in content in R1 compared to R2. My only solace is even if I could afford a multi region player I can't afford the optimum sets at the moment

blah

Can you turn your current DVD player into an 'All regions' machine by cracking the code? Usually there's one for every player, it's just a matter of finding it on the net...
