Many thanks for the images of four Avengers Jigsaws on the Dead Duck website. The 'No Escape' one has about half the pixel resolution than the others and I found another, possibly better, image of this one online here (scroll down the page) _________________ Ron

A couple of online New Avengers jigsaw box images :
There is another NA jigsaw with Steed and a London bus I think, but I can't find an online image anymore.
Maybe there's one of Emma Peel on her own too? _________________ Ron

I think the solo Steed one was him at the steps of No. 10. And there was this ...

Yes, it is. I have all four TNA puzzles. There's another one that's a montage with a Cybernaut, a Chinese sculpture, and Purdey firing her gun.
There were four Emma puzzles made back in the sixties, but they're incredibly rare and go for a mint on ebay. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I remember seeing a picture of the one with Steed at the steps of No. 10 now.
So there are four Avengers (Woolworths), four TNA and four Emma jigsaws, at least. _________________ Ron

Yes, just those. As far as I know there weren't any other puzzles produced. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I missed this. Sorry. The 'No Escape' box is half the resolution of the others because Alistair McGown faked it up for me and in those days of clockwork-powered internet access it was easier to get it to me that way. It's the one jigsaw I don't own.
I think there's also been some confusion with regard to the number of jigsaws. There are four Walt Howarth-illustrated ones, featuring Steed and Mrs. Peel, which were sold in Woolworth stores, and four New Avengers ones. Unless there are another four out there, of course, which would be surprising, but as information about Avengers spin-off material has been notoriously difficult to source, not completely out of the question. _________________ My Avengers sites:

The 4 Emma Peel jigsaws are incredibly hard to find. After searching for years, I managed to buy the CASTLE DE'ATH one at a Memorabilia Show in Birmingham (England). Even though it's incomplete and the box is battered, it cost £90 !
I'm still looking for the other three...
'In The Basement' a scene from DEATH AT BARGAIN PRICES
'Archery Practice' from THE MASTER MINDS
'No Escape' from A FUNNY THING HAPPENED... |

I think so. The shop Woolworths (no longer trading) and the Arrow company. _________________ Ron

Apart from novels I'm not sure what merchandise made it to the US when the show was in production. _________________

These jigsaw images come and go on the internet, presumably as they are traded, but here's the solo Steed one just now for anybody that doesn't know it:
It could be 10 Downing Street, although the door opens the other way, so maybe its a club or hotel? _________________ Ron

I think it is meant to be 10 Downing Street, or at least it's billed that way when listed in collector's guides. They might have reversed the image, or simply gotten it wrong--these things aren't known for their accuracy.
I managed to accumulate all four TNA puzzles a few years back, and had a lot of fun putting them together. It's tough to not accidentally vacuum up pieces, though. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

Also, secret agents probably wouldn't leave by the front door (more likely to go through to another house in the street - they're connected). _________________ Last watched: Tunnel of Fear. |

Who is the man letting him out? I can't tell if he's a policeman or not. He certainly isn't the typical bobby that stands outside No. 10.
Is there a description on the box of what is happening in the picture? _________________

I too would be interested in how the text on the box describes the scene. _________________ Last watched: Tunnel of Fear. |

There aren't any text descriptions on the boxes, alas. Just reiterations that it's a TNA puzzle and the number of pieces, that kind of thing. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I wonder if Steed ever leaves a door like this in an episode of TNA? He doesn't feature as much as Purdey and Gambit of course. _________________ Ron
