Brilliant and well-spotted. Interesting to check out the author's other works too.
And there was me pontificating in my last post about a book for the 50th anniversary.
Now, those Lotto numbers ... _________________

Oh, wow! How exciting! I can't wait! So glad to see someone recognise the milestone. I hope it'll cover all the parts of the show--TNA, the comics, radio series, etc.--and not just the original series. Some fresh pictures would be great, too. But what a nice coffee table book to have.
(I have a nice copy of that cover photo, too. It lives on my wall above the Gareth Hunt in Deathtrap poster and below Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie. )
Nice predictions there, Dandy. Can you start wishing for the missing Keel episodes now? _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

It looks as though Steed is about to hook Emma round the neck for a snog with the aid of his brolly.
And Emma likes it. _________________

I thought that the very fact that I'm working on reconstructions would mean that the moment I'd finished one, the episode would turn up after all the hard work! Not that I would have complained at all!!!
Another four on the go right now... I'm giving those missing episodes every goddamn chance of turning up!
Great news about the book, isn't it? Delighted that Marcus Hearn is writing it. He'll do a top job. _________________ Alan

That'd just be the way, wouldn't it? Keep at it, Alan. You can only tempt fate for so long before it gives in. (We appreciate all the effort in the meantime, though. ) _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

And it's good that a book is not region coded and every Avengers fan can enjoy this no matter where they live.
And I agree with Timeless, I likes the cover. _________________

The book will be issued simultaneously in the US. I just ordered it from Barnes and Noble. |

Not wanting to judge a book by it's cover, but this is a great way to celebrate 50 years of Avengers. |

I feel very confident about this - especially after Alan's (I think) positive comments about the author. I wasn't expecting anything to mark it's 50th and a quick anonymously written tome cribbed from various Internet websites would have been a huge disappointment.
I love the cover. Simple and suitably retro (a bit like me! ) and hope it's a good sign of the content. _________________

Rest assured - Marcus is a class act. I've worked with him for 18 years or so. You can expect something very special with this one.
All the best

I have a feeling this book will be everything the dedicated fan would want in an Avengers book, with lots of unseen photos and a serious essay on the show. If the cover and title are any indication, we're in for a treat. Hardcover, too. I'm ready. |
