Hmm... A bit, because of the hair colour/haircut?
As I can remember Emma sometimes had nearly the same haircut as Cathy Gale in season 4...
Bit the face looks similar to Tara, I assume.

Sincerely yours,

A look at the 'Department S' comic strips at 'The Forget Me Notes' this week.

Both the 'TV21' UK strip, and the two Dutch reprint versions.

I had no idea Department S got anything on the comics front--very interesting! Was anything printed for Jason King as well?

No Jason King strips, but Peter Wyngarde/Jason King did inspire other comic characters over the years.

The most famous one being 'Jason Wyngarde'. Part of The Hellfire Club in 'The Uncanny X-Men' comic and a character responsible for turning Jean Grey's Pheonix over the edge.. (subsequently trying to destroy the universe in The Dark Phoenix Saga.) At one point Jean even wears a similar costume to the one worn by Emma Peel in A Touch Of Brimstone.

Ah, yes, I've heard about this elsewhere. It's nice to see Jason was popping up in one form or another somewhere, even if it wasn't always quite as "himself". Wink

This week, a look at the first story of the incredibly rare Cathy Gale Avengers strip, "Epidemic Of Terror".

In keeping with the tone of the contemporary Cathy Gale television episodes, these are more adult orientated than the later Mrs Peel and Tara King episodes and strips, with drug references, Cathy smoking and lingerie!

I had no idea Cathy ever got a look-in on the comics front. Fascinating!

Wasn't there a Cathy-era Avengers strip run in a national newspaper - perhaps the Daily Express?

The likenesses are fairly good.

Steed and Cathy Gale were in the Manchester Evening News.

Check out Mike Noon's site. Avengers strips go back to Dr Keel and Steed in the TV Crimebusters annual in 1962.

Steed and Mrs Gale's newspaper adventures are featured here.

I agree. Very Happy
Steed looks better, as in some other stuff.

I always forget to poke around the comics site. Lots of reading to do, I see. Wink

This week a look at the 9th Steed & Mrs Peel story from TV Comic, 'The Mirage Maker', and also how it was edited for the US Gold Key 'Steed & Peel' comic.

Great. Smile
I have never seen that before...
(one reason could be, that I have no idea about comics)

Sincerely yours,

That wasnt the whole article! The group doesn't have Andrew Pixley writing for it, but the articles at The Forget Me Notes are a bit bigger than this generally!

As its a Yahoo Group you have to join to see the articles/postings. But if you want to know the basics about strips it could be worth a visit? Its similar in some ways to the Winged Avenger site, but its different in lots of other ways.

Yeah, I know.
But I haven't seen these kind of comics or at least other comics at all.
So, it's great (at least for me) you share these covers/previews of the comics/comic strips with us. Smile

Sincerely yours,
Sinus1994

I didn't know quite where to put this, but I've been reading a collection of Bond comics, and one story, "Fear Face", featured a discredited female agent using a suspicously familiar fake name.

"Belinda Thorsen." From Canada. Even the people working on Bond comics are Avengers fans. Laughing

Sorry, not been around for a while. Thank you for mentioning this. Always interesting to see references.

And is that Peter Bowles behind her!?
