I really think Patrick is an honourary Canadian--he was here for close to a decade, and for awhile there it was practically a law that he had to be in close to everything the CBC produced. He was quite happy to go revisit his old haunts for TNA, too, and I know his son works here a lot. I'd like to think we converted him, just a little bit. Wink

George Cukor's 1957 musical comedy Les Girls with Gene Kelly (and further down the cast list: Patrick Macnee and Leslie Phillips) can be see on YouTube in it's entirety.

Catch it whilst you can, as these things tend to get removed.

That's my Easter watching sorted (apart from a brand new series of Doctor Who of course ... )

Yes, I figured that out the second time at the site. Wow, Pat did a great job in just two minutes creating a whole character--his talking, posing and facial features really set up who his character was.

I wish I could watch more!

What site did you order from, Ischtar? I could not find the DVD myself on amazon.co.uk or amazon.com

Hi Mona,
I bought it here: http://www.moviemail.com/film/dvd/All-Over-the-Town/
and there's a link to the British Amazon site with the release date:http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Over-The-Town-DVD/dp/B00A6F1QC0

Armchair theatre Volume 4 has been released:
http://www.moviemail.com/scripts/gallery.pl?objecttype=Category&objectID=114
with an episode with Patrick Macnee, judging from the nice picture of Pat (scroll down the site), it's The Importance of being Earnest - indeed!

"Film Description

Pioneering, immensely influential and often challenging, Armchair Theatre was ITV's flagship drama anthology series. Bringing high-quality drama to the viewing public, the series easily demonstrated the network's potential to rival the BBC's drama output, with diverse and powerful plays showcasing some of Britain's most gifted writers.

This set comprises twelve plays featuring performances by some of the era's most celebrated and accomplished actors - including Susannah York, Colin Blakely, Ian Holm, Irene Handl, Donald Pleasence, Terry-Thomas, Patrick Macnee, Arthur Lowe and John Le Mesurier, among many others. This volume includes early plays by both Jack Rosenthal and David Perry, and a star-studded production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest.

Contains The Emperor Jones (1958), The Greatest Man in the World, The Scent of Fear, After the Show, Lord Arthur Savile's Crime, The Trouble with Our Ivy, The Hard Knock, The Paradise Suite, Long Past Glory, The Importance of Being Earnest, I Took My Little World Away and The Night Before the Morning After (1966)."

The play - or one act- is on one of the Optimum Release DVD's too.

Thanks! I just bought it too. Luckily, right near my house is a guy who can change Region 2 DVDs into American Region 1 DVDs.

Unfortunately, the DVD with Pat in "The Importance of Being Earnest" is a bit too pricey for me at this time.
