What's the current email address, and the postal address to send for replacements? I might send off my series 6 disks next week.

I have contacted them via 2 e-mail addresses: the generic info@optimumreleasing.com and the more personal tom.austin@optimumreleasing.com (which was always the one replying to my original e-mails to the other one).

This is the physical address that I used at the beginning of the year:

The Avengers Series 6
Optimum Releasing
50 Marshall Street
London

It's worth pointing out that Optimum appear to have been completely consumed by Studio Canal now, so it's possible the old email addy is dead or at least no longer reliable (if it ever was).

See this page for updated details:

Does anyone know if it safe to buy series 6 yet? Is it just the 2 episodes that needed correcting? Forget me knot on disc 1, and Legacy of death on disc 3 I think. I think Forget me knot is the corrected one in the complete box set, but not so sure if it's still the duff one in the individual set. Thanks, Rich.

Chances are both discs will still be duff. I received a replacement disc 1 the other day in the post. Am waiting for an official word on the other disc to swap it.

Thanks cybernowt. What address did you use, and how long did you have to wait for the fixed one? Does anyone know if they are still sending out replacements for Forget me knot. It's 18 on play, so it'll be worth it even if I have to return the duff disc 1. How bad is the Legacy of death episode by the way? If they don't fix it, is the version released watchable. Thanks, Rich.

I used the address from Alan's Declassified site.. Probably the same one as at the top of this page. I think it took three weeks.. although I can't remember. I just stuck it in a padded envelope.. [reusing a stamp on an envelope which hadn't been franked.. hee hee!] And posted it without recorded delivery and hoped for the best. I read somewhere else on here that they were posting all discs out at once. Maybe they only do it once a month?

I haven't watched any Avengers for a while - still not finished series 5.. [have been sidetracked.] So I can't say about the quality of Legacy.

Maybe you could try posting both discs together.. what's the worst that could happen!?

Got my series 6 box set this morning. A bargain at 18 from cavalcade, but as I thought, it does have the duff disc 1 and disc 5. Could someone confirm the current address where I can return disc 1 for a replacement. Is is still the same address at the top of this page? (50 Marshall St, London) Many thanks, Rich.

I'd like to know too, haven't sent mine off yet (I'm fairly happy with the Contender versions of those two episodes, anyway).

I would think that mail would be redirected if they have moved. If you put a return address on the envelope.. possibly sending it recorded you should at least get it back if they have gone. However I would think that the above address still works. They may have been bought out, but I doubt the office will have been moved elsewhere.

The office is in the same place. Just a name change.

Actually, I may have jumped the gun here. I'm not sure if they are the duff discs after all. Confused It doesn't say V3 on the disc so I assumed it was duff. I've now played Forget me knot and it sounds fine to me. Not high pitched. I'll have to dig out my old video and compare it. How high pitched was the duff disc? Was it very noticable? Should my disc say V3 or did they only do that on series 5? I've also now played bits of Legacy of death and I can't see any faults. Where about in the episode is the flickering? I'm very happy with what I've seen so far of my set. Thanks, Rich.

I'd hazard a guess that you have a corrected set as you'd notice the problem with Legacy of Death right from the start. The brightness 'pulses' light and dark very obviously on the cocked-up version.

Thanks Alan,
no, I was right first time. It's not the corrected version of Legacy. I'm not too sure about Forget me knot. Confused I've just compared my old video of Forget me knot which is pitched slightly lower than the dvd. It is only slightly. I wouldn't have realised the dvd of Forget me knot was pitched too high though. I read on here that Steed and Emma sounded like they were on helium. Confused It doesn't sound like that on my disc, but it is very slightly higher pitched than the video. I really wouldn't have noticed anything wrong had I not read it on here though, as it doesn't sound too bad on my disc 1. Does anyone know what it says on the corrected disc 1? I don't have V3 on my disc.
I didn't play Legacy from the start initially. I just pressed next and skipped through, noticing nothing wrong. The flickering seems to be just during the start of the episode. Not sure how long the flickering continues, as I only played a few seconds.
I guess I'll return disc 1 though. Picture quality is superb by the way. I was surprised how muddy the video looked when I watched a bit of my old video after the dvd. Rich.

On the back of the corrected disc 1 I received it says;

OPTD1752/1 V2 LAYER 1 / 078892 / DVD9

Anyone here actually sent away for a replacement Legacy disc?

Thanks cybernowt,
mine doesn't say V2 so it's not the corrected disc. I'll send it back to 50 Marshall St, an address they're hopefully still using. Thanks, Rich.

Thanks Noel....I'll have to give it a go....I'm a bit reluctant to send off the disc without knowing I can either have it replaced, or at the very least returned.

HI MR S YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND OF THE DISC ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS EMAIL THEM AND LET THEN KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE DVD AND TELL THEM WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY TO HAVE THE RIGHT DVD THAT YOU SHOULD HAD IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THAN YOU WILL GET YOUR COPY IN THE POST.
I HAVE DONE THIS WILL ALL OF THE DVDS THAT WAS NOT RIGHT AND I GOT ALL NEW COPYS IN THE POST.
ALL THE BEST WITH IT.
NOEL Very Happy
