I admit I voted a LOT. We are now so far in the lead I think it's a given The Avengers is going to win. One last vote for folks today and we've done our job!
I'll ask Rupert Macnee to report the news to his dad at the end of the poll, if we win. It's a great birthday present!

I think you're right, 54% should be enough to win and I have to admit, I voted a lot too
And - we all have to thank Mona!

POLL RESULTS
The Empire strikes back!
After weeks of trailing plucky Yank upstart Chuck in our poll of best TV spy show of all time, British superspies John Steed and Emma Peel—aka The Avengers—staged a miraculous comeback and wound up winning commandingly, with 55% of the vote, versus just 23% for Chuck.
Fabulous, Mrs. Peel.
The only other series to figure prominently in the voting was Patrick McGoohan’s late-sixties Kafka homage The Prisoner, so all in all a dandy showing for the Brits.
I am truly disheartened by the dismal showing of some of my favorite spy series—The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Alias, and 24 each received but 1% of the vote, while Archer, Homeland, and the Rocky and Bullwinkle shows registered big fat zeroes—but the people have spoken! Long live Steed and Mrs. Peel, the king and queen of spy television.

Thanks everyone for making this a rousing success! While we all might not see the show in the same way, the core foundation is we all believe it is a SUPER GREAT show and deserves any and all accolades it can attain.
This is a lovely way to end a busy week.

Rupert told me he is going to print out the Paley Poll info I sent him and show it to his dad--cool! Btw, Patrick is "doing well".
Remember, 2/6/12 Patrick Macnee turns 90! It would be lovely to send him a birthday card or flowers for this momentous occasion. Thank G-d he has good genes!
If anyone wants his home address please PM me. He really loves getting all the cards.

That's great news, Mona, especially that Patrick is "doing well" - that's even better than winning a poll

To avoid confusion (for the 95% of us who don't use the totally bonkers American date format) is 6th February 2012. The age is still the same |

Hehe. I've already learned the the American date format at school, so for me it isn't a problem to read/understand it correctly.
And of course, I already know the birthday of Patrick Macnee! That's nearly a must for all The Avengers/Steed-Fans...
