There will trouble in paradise, if you change Iron man, Hulk, aptain America and the rest for THAT kind of Avengers.
Maybe he would like Mrs. Peel, as she looks much better than Tasha Romanoff - be a good dad and change the Poster again |

Hehe.
You're quite right ischtar.
Mrs Peel looks indeed much better than Tasha Romanoff.
Hang up a poster with Mrs Peel as Queen Of Sin.
Sincerely yours,

I tend to agree, but Pat Macnee / Diana Rigg posters are rare and expensive. This was as far as my budget would stretch for the sake of a joke!
Although I did also buy him a new Batman poster...
It looks much more cheery in there now!

Ha ha ha! Genius! When he comes home, I'm sure he'll be very understanding once you explain that Steed and co. had the name first.
Really, though, the fact that his poster bears the "Avengers Assemble" title instead of the straightforward "The Avengers" used over here means it has a tenuous connection to our Avengers--they renamed the movie "Avengers Assemble" to prevent people confusing it with the TV series. So it's not as much of a stretch as he may think. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

You're right Ian.
Such posters are indeed not that cheat.
But you did a great job in cheering up the room a bit.
And this will be a surprise for you son.

I have to say that's a great prank, very 'Life on Mars' where iPods turn into car radios, etc.
By the way Timeless, my cynical side tells me they probably altered the title to "Avengers Assemble" in the UK to avoid comparison with a certain flop 1998 movie not a beloved 60's TV series.
That Batman no. 1 poster looks so cool, I have to say. _________________

There as probably a degree of that as well, yes. But the bit I read in SFX said it was the TV series which was tripping people up, but I've read both explanations. I did hear Elizabeth Alker on 6Music tell Radcliffe and Maconie that she went to see it under the assumption that it was the TV Avengers, and realised about halfway through that Steed and Emma were nowhere to be seen. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I got the same comment over on Roobarbs and my son's Facebook friends think so too. My son agrees and is going to keep it, so that part of the joke has backfired on me. He hasn't even offered to pay for it
The Avengers poster he's not so sure about, although he was interested to find that the guy in the hat is Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter films. He'd never seen him with a nose before.
