If you like, I will be glad to host the scripts in their own section on my Taglines site, turning them into PDFs.

Though it looks the other site is quite fine for the production side of things.

David has just announced on his TAF site that he will no longer be updating it.

While he's keeping it up as a sort of reference page, I'm going to miss any new reviews that may have come up and his IMHO. However, I can certainly understand his reasonings and hope that the time away will give him a chance to rest and relax.

Best of luck David and we hope to see you from time to time here on the forum.

Kim

Major news for fans of this much beloved show. Can't say I blame him..Especially with all the problems that he had to deal with..with moving the site and the forum..and having to deal with major server problems and more..12 years is an eternity on the Net...heck, I remember surfing over to TAF, on a macintosh SE/30..with a monochrome screen, with a 2400 baud modem.....wow, 12 years....how the Net has evolved...

the current site is indeed, a wealth and treasure trove of info..imagine it if it was reproduced inna coffee table type book...

I'm hoping after a while, David may again, get the passion and re jump start the site..if not, THANKS for everything...and best wishes, David ...

Sad I was flabbergated as I just visited The Avengers Forever website and discovered that David had stopped updating the site. I was relieved however to rediscover the Forum again. Hello again my friends. My old username was skypilot but I could not login here using that info. May there be many more years of our shared love of this wonderful show.

Welcome back skypilot! I moved this here so as to avoid having too threads going on the same topic. Hope you don't mind.

Whether it ever gets "updated" again, or not, David's site is a huge achievement, and something for him and all Avengers fans to be immensely proud of. It also remains extremely useful.

In my opinion it is the best website and resource relating to a television series, anywhere on the internet. And I see a lot of sites!

Here here! It was David's site that re-introduced me to The Avengers with it's wealth of information. I miss the updates greatly, but I'm glad he's kept it up as a sort of online encyclopedia.

TAF is the best ever 'book' about The Avengers. And David's reviews of the show are excellent and well balanced.

One day I must follow his suggestion by printing off every page and reading them as a book. His labour of love has left us all with a fantastic resource and souvenir.

once I printed everyTHING ..would like to have it bounded..

probably take me a few weeks..as I'll do it in bits and pieces..

As much information as his site contains, are you sure there is enough paper in the world for such an undertaking? Very Happy
I keep meaning to one day just make a pot of coffee and sit in front of the computer leisurely flipping through the pages of the site. I haven't visited it in quite some time and there is still a great deal I haven't read yet.

I need a very long vacation. Hell, I'm still trying to work my way through Andrew's book yet and it's been what...six months or more?

It took me six months to read Andrew's book. And ten years to read TAF. I remember years back we almost lost it because of hosting costs. That was probably 1999, right when I was still starting out with the show. We're incredibly lucky it was as active as it was for so long.

It would have been impossible to print off The Avengers Forever into book form as it was being updated regularly and information was 'fluid'. Now it's closed you could do it of course.

It would certainly be interesting to see how many pages you'd need.

yes, it would be interesting..I'm thinking of giving it an go..maybe doing it in bits and pieces..maybe over the upcoming holidays, since I have no family commitments, I could do a little each night..and go from there.

once done, it might be a great tool to have and reflect on..before it goes away...

While I applaud the enthusiasm, please be aware that David's site is copyright to him and he would most certainly not be happy at your suggestion, mousemeat.

I suggest that you contact David and run the idea by him - what you are suggesting is copyright theft.

Thank You Dave for all the years of hard work and devotion to The Avengers.

All done from New Jersey too!

Mr.David Smith from New Jersey! What can I say- except THANK YOU! You have made me very happy with your Avengers Forever site. The most comprehensive site I've ever seen. Regretfully, it won't be updated any further but I just had to express my gratitude for it's conception in the first place. Mr. Smith, I salute you!
