And I was thrown off by him seemingly having a white rhinoceros on his hat.... if it were a Rose of York it would've made sense. _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

Looking at that page, the covers get weirder and weirder as the years go on.
The main exception is "The Avengers & Other Top Sixties TV Themes (2 discs)", nice cover design and a good selection of tracks. I wish I owned that one! _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

I also think the selection of previous covers was more attractive and wider. As from 2002 I only like three: your mentioned, I posted above, and this below:
Although The Avengers & Other Top Sixties TV Themes and Cops On The Box: 26 Great Cop Themes are being reissued. _________________ Denis |

You English is just perfect! That was most interesting to hear. YOu are clearly a creative thinker and communicate very well. i don't speak Russian and could not communicate a thing to you, so we are all impressed I think.
I am so glad to hear the new generation is not burdened with the past in general. Well except the group you say that will agree or disagree with the old timers. I guess it is hard to change for the old timers that want to return to the past they know than the future they are frightened of.
By the way, what is the older generations rational for wanting to return to communism and what is their fear with the new regime?
Well I guess my next question can be what brand of toothpaste you use! LOL!
i have to tell you. I had a friend visit Russia who brought back the best tasting chocolate bar I ever tasted! I was impressed! |
Excellent! I will not more go back to notion its knowledges of the English language.
So, there are several items that can be identified with re
ference to the rationality of the older generation to communism:
1. Cohesion of the people, the existence of the people as a whole without the need for social control, and, in main, for protection from destruction of the
system of restraint on the part of the dangerous and original thinking.
Cruel? But this is a communism!
2. Outside the system of communism - degradation of the person, because, in their view, a person becomes free - it turns into some sort of obsessed with freedom, he thinks, how he wants, thereby associate an anarchist.
3. The preservation of cultural values of the past and the eradication of the
factors leading to change. That is the world without change.
4. Need to be treated equally, to avoid a war in own system.
We can see how Communism was acting against the people and promote their interests to the total power. They showed obvious western abominations and it worked. When the Iron Curtain fell, I saw something that struck me - was normal around the world and people have lived their interests. It was similar to what if our country for many years been involved in some global play and when the play was over, there was time to go to the exit.
Well, the play was funny.
The Fear of the older generation with the new regime?
Based on the answer to the first question, I see the older generation and the people that listen to this - there fear the collapse of their country and the
destruction of cultural property from the West. They also believe that the West in the near future will be to control their interests, and this will lead to a complete degeneration of the Russian as an independent nation.
Well I guess my next question can be what brand of toothpaste you use!
Well, you is right, if we delve in contemporary life in Russia, we, ten to one, come to this subject.
I had a friend visit Russia who brought back the best tasting chocolate bar I ever tasted! I was impressed!
Oh, you rated it? Yes, it is. The old russian factory "Red October", producing candy and chocolate is one of the best in the world and once you try it, you will not forget ever.
For food products, in Russia there are many memorable things. Chicken sausage, fish products, ice creams, cakes, sweets for tea, etc. Never get tired of it. |
damn, there goes the DIET....anyhow, happy chowing! |

Who is the guitarist centre-top? Looks like Donovan. His guitar has a message written on it, presumably based on Woodie Guthrie's.
And the group top right? Thought it might be the Searchers but not sure their haircuts were ever that Beatles-esque.
Sandie Shaw bottom right? _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

yup..donovan......and that's ray davies and the kinks...circa '65 or '66...and they were on PYE at the time in the UK, and reprise in the States...Donovan produced by mickey most..and was considered the british dylan...signed to CBS, they assigned him to Columbia's sister label EPIC.....and at the time Donovan was keen to be on Columbia..like dylan...as for the Kinks, they stayed with Reprise until early 70's, then signed to RCA...then Clive Davis, ex president of CBS records, signed the kinks to Arista in 1977...where they had a re birth creatively ... |

Is the one with his head turned sideways, looing at the ground, his brother Dave? I have terrible trouble recognising them unless they're smiling. I always liked Ray's dodgy teeth _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

A great version that compares well with the funky New Avengers theme. The problem is why I did not attach the track to this Acid Jazz Classics CD edition (2004) is the reason that I am not sure how the track sounds on the disc. I downloaded the CD edition and these tracks (in mp3) sound oddly cut at the end, although they coincide with the time indicated on various sites for this edition. Either the person who did the processing tracks from CD (I downloaded) made sloppy edits, or the tracks really sound like this or close to that on this CD.

Here this New Avengers track also sounds shortened:

By the way, Steedumbrella has good scans for all the images of Acid Jazz Classics CD edition when you click on them. _________________ Denis |

CDs from 2005 (only 8 editions for this year):
https://steedumbrella.ru/en_CDs_TV_series_Albums_2005.html
Despite the small number of releases in 2005, the quality of the covers has improved markedly compared to the last previous years.
My 2005 favorite is this one below (well-matched images and nice to see Patrick next to Roger).

Yes, that's an excellent one. Unusual to see "The Sweeney" in black and white, may be a clever reference to its monochromatic title sequence photos. _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

wow, a wealth of some interesting releases...unlike here in the States, virtually el-zippo....and yeah, the covers do look better...perhaps better access to images, and /or/better graphic designer, or art dept. |
