That would be great, Piers, and I would went there again, but not in this hard time for Crimea. Wink

One Russian fan sent me this pic in early 2000s, but unfortunately he did not wrote where he took it. I tried to find it on the Internet at the time, but to no avail. The source of this rare Pat's advert still remains a mystery.

Punch was a long-running satirical magazine that went under in the late 1980s when the young tories and economists took over management, then sacked all their good writers. (Ask John Lloyd or Hunter Davies!)

My parents used to get it and we probably had that very issue in the house at one time. Many libraries hold complete collections so it shouldn't be hard to scan a better copy.

Thanks for the info, Piers. Smile

Unfortunately, many Russian libraries have either very old issues of magazine Punch either fresh, since 1996. In the mid-1980s in the Soviet libraries could not be such a magazine, and when it was possible, they just began to receive current issues and old for "history buffs". Very Happy
But I think many fans really have the ability to scan it, if will go to a large libraries of its city.

Hmm .... My doubts about the fact that pic scanned a Russian fan who sent it to me are follows:
He sent me at the time another material of excellent quality and I know that he could to scan it properly, not at an angle.
Based on this, a feeling that either he found it in a online store from, for example, Asian countries (well he fine knew that I do not find it) or someone sent him this stuff.
I would have contacted him, but no one knows where he now.

This pic not the best quality, but at least we know how it looks. Wink

Yes, Jay, it's an rare shot, I would like to see the original. I do not know why, but it brings me to another "frame". Confused Maybe because I did not see more pics of Patrick so elsewhere. Very Happy

The shot of Steed on the firepole I have seen before, but they have a similar sort of "look" to them. Very Happy

Patrick also participated for advertising of whiskey Langs Supreme in Punch from september 1984. Perhaps there is a completely different Patrick's image. Confused

Update on Steedumbrella. Very Happy

Little known stage works of Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman.

Grand total:

Patrick Macnee

The Good Young Man (Prince's Theatre, Bradford) February 1941
Painted Sparrows (Prince's Theatre, Bradford) February 1941

Honor Blackman

Crime of Passion (Jupiter Theatre, Toronto, Canada) spring 1952
The Importance of Being Earnest (Muskoka region, Canada) summer 1952
The Glass Menagerie (Muskoka region, Canada) summer 1952
Twelfth Night (Theatre Royal, Huddersfield, UK) 28 april - 2 may 1953
Random Harvest (Theatre Royal, Huddersfield, UK) early may 1953
Accent on Youth (Theatre Royal, Huddersfield, UK) mid may 1953
Donkey's Years (Stage West, Edmonton, Canada) 1986

These theatrical findings were special for me, as I was always interested in what doing Honor in Canada between 1952 - 1954. Many articles said that she wanted to emigrate there with her first husband, Bill Sankey, but when he fell ill, they returned to England and soon divorced.
At first I thought that Honor went to Canada in late 1952, because the fall of 1952, she participated in the play "Joking Apart", but now I'm totally surprised, since my findings deny all that I have read before.

For example:

http://www.classicimages.com/people/article_2eb3bf95-2471-5ab5-97ff-e3dd354a18a6.html

Well, again mistakes. There mentioned that she was on TV in 1954 in a serial Little Red Monkey, but it was in early 1953.
Here is necessary to conduct a good investigation, but so far it is clear that Honor was in Toronto earlier Patrick Wink (It turns out that we have Honor as a real Canadian veteran or the first British woman on Canadian TV. Laughing ) I think she arrived in Toronto in early 1952 and soon started to work in television and stage. On summer Honor was in Muskoka region, and in the fall returned to England to work. She also came back in 1953 (or maybe she has already broken off relations with Bill and returned permanently). The fact is that I don't know exactly what is year when she divorced Bill (I'm not sure that 1954), here everything is based on guesses. Well known that she married him when she was twenty years old and lived with him for eight years. That's all!

Honor recently stated that it will not be next year for her 90 years old, that makes me strong confusion. Can Honor specifically trying to confuse the trail? Very Happy

http://www.express.co.uk/news/showbiz/455937/Honor-Blackman-It-s-time-for-me-to-start-slowing-down

It would be great if Honor and Patrick participate in the same work in Canada, but it is very doubtful, as none of them said since The Avengers that they had meet before. Canadian productions of those years were taken as a spectacle and you know the whole cast. So alas, no luck. Crying or Very sad

Honor Blackman - Crime of Passion (Jupiter Theatre) spring 1952
Patrick Macnee - A Sleep of Prisoners (Jupiter Theatre) from april 1953

Best wishes for fans

Denis

Update on Steedumbrella:

Scans of Chinese Comic album: Vol1 (every album - 48 p, two stories):

1. 捣毁鹰巢 Destroy Eagle Nest (The Eagle's Nest)

http://steedumbrella.ru/comics_China_Story1.html

2. 超级机器人 Super Robot (The Last of the Cybernauts...??)

http://steedumbrella.ru/comics_China_Story2.html

The publishing house of comics is: 人民美术出版社 (renmin meishu chubanshi)

I looked for information and found out that it is the most well-known publishing house in China. Apparently, editions were the official and this pleased.

In all were released eight comics. It was in 1990, around the same time when China first trasmitted the series The New Avengers (The Avengers was first shown at the end of 1980s).

I think that the episodes in China could be edited as it is printed in the comics. There is missing some scenes.

As far as I know, China has transmitted only those episodes that were printed. Ie 16 episodes.

Titles of the chinese comics TNA:

1. 捣毁鹰巢 Destroy Eagle Nest (The Eagle's Nest)
超级机器人 Super Robot (The Last of the Cybernauts...??)

2. 鸟中之王 The King of Birds (Cat Amongst the Pigeons)
模拟靶场 Analog Range (Target!)

3. 真假难辨 True and False Difficult Distinguish (Faces)
三人游戏 Three-Handed Game (The Three-Handed Game)

4. 昏睡不醒 Lethargy (Sleeper)
神秘下水道 Mysterious Sewer (Gnaws)

5 先知女巫 Prophet Witch (Medium Rare)
执迷不悟 Unrepentant (Obsession)

6 死亡天使 Angels of Death
独角兽 Unicorn (The Lion and the Unicorn)

7 猛虎初醒 Tiger Awakes (K is for Kill, Part 1)
虎落平阳 Hardships (K is for Kill, Part 2)

8 角斗士 Gladiators (The Gladiators)
前方基地 Forward Base

Chinese comics in better quality will soon on Anew

Thanks, Piers & anti-clockwise. Very Happy

I decided that I'll not rush to publish all 8 volumes of comics on Steedumbrella as J. Ferguson plans to add them to Anew next month.

I will publish four volumes, then I will wait for the update on Anew. I do not know exactly how Timeless A-Peel will be presented comics there, but definitely they will be more than three times better resolution than Steedumbrella.
After Jay publish all the albums I finish their post on Steedumbrella. Wink

Many thanks, Alan! Wink

Wonderfully that nowadays there are many programs directly in Internet online. I worked with the scans of comics in Photoshop-online. Well, Photoshop-online a few simplified version of popular graphic editor, but I liked result. Very Happy

Don't feel you have to wait on my account, Denis! But I am very happy to have the comics, and to host them on the site. I was thinking of putting each story in PDF format so people could download/save them as desired. That way they could also zoom in on the scans as much as they want, to see every pixel of little cartoon Steed, Gambit, and Purdey if they like. But if you have another suggestion, I'm happy to take it. Very Happy

You are very kind, Jay, but nevertheless I'll expect. Wink
I just thought on my part would not be very honest immediately publish all the material and besides, I owe it to you, since you helped me and Alan. Well, I can not do otherwise. Rolling Eyes

I would not want to have any impact on your decision about the form of publishing the comics, and I think your idea of a PDF is very suitable here.
I already imagine how it will look. Well, it's your style and I like it. Very Happy

You found them all on your own! No credit to me. But I'm more than happy to host them, and I shall do so in the best quality I can, so everyone can view them to their heart's content. Very Happy They're a wonderful find. I only wish I knew Chinese the way I know a bit of French so I could translate them! Cool
