I've been lucky enough to see him a few times Mike - the best being the launch of The Persuaders! on Blu-ray a couple of years ago. I take it he isn't doing any signing?

There was no official signing at the event, though a lot of people (at least 50) were hanging around the stage door hoping for an autograph, as we left.

I have now located a source for this short video of the Lumiere (not Contender) Video Launch in London.

Just watching it again, I notice that Barry Morse was there, as presumably he knew both Patrick and Leonard White from their time working in Canada.

Unfortunately, Diana does not appear in the footage, but I know she wasn't there very long and only attended as a favor to Macnee.

Ah, cool. I've got it on a VHS converted to DVD but it's not easy to extract its 3.5 minutes from the other rarities and post it online!

I think we were informed that Diana was able to drop in because she was about to perform a theatre part (in a matinee?) somewhere nearby, but could not stay long as she had to leave for it. So yes, I guess she mainly did it to see Patrick.

Of the fans there I mainly recognise only Anthony McKay of Time Screen fame, though I can hear others but not see them - shades of The See-Through Man?

Yes Tony was there as was Annette Hill.

Chris Gabb and Sam Mitchell were there too, although they don't appear on the footage.

I was offered the chance to go and unfortunately had other things to do. For the chance to see Patrick, Diana, Linda and Honor in the same place at the same time, I should have thrown a sickie.

But if you had, there'd be video evidence Wink

It would have been worth the risk.

Fenella Fielding was there too, she arrived with an actor with a moustache I recognised from BBC sit-coms (a golf club member/bank manger/part guest-type). I think Simon Oats and Nickolas Grace were also present.

Yes Tony

Simon Oates and Sue Lloyd, who played the leads in the stageplay, although both appeared in episodes of the series and Nicholas Grace who can be seen talking to Honor Blackman, along with Richard Bates.

I'm more interested in knowing which fans were present, but I might be able to identify Fenella's companion if he appears on any of the video.

Tony McKay, Annette Hill, Chris Gabb and Sam Mitchell, who had something to do with the competition run by Lumiere and organising the tour around Avengers locations, which took place later, or the day after.

Tony could tell you more regarding that and where they went on the tour.

Give me the names of actors who played Tom's ex-boss or fellow workers in 'The Good Life'.

Definitely looks like him.

There' someone who looks like (Prisoner fan) Martin Goldthorpe near the beginning of the tape.

Why was Nickolas Grace there?

I probably could as well - as I arranged the tour ! Mitchell is one of my middle names, which I've used for various projects in the past, but I'm more usually known as Sam Denham. The launch party was actually for the Lumiere release of the Avengers on video and took place around October 1993. My involvement - with Tony, Annette and Chris, was to arrange a 'Be an Avenger for the Day' competition which was run in a national newspaper, and I think also TV Zone magazine. I have some photos which I could try and scan at some point which include some of the guests mentioned. Director James Hill was also there, as I remember speaking to him about his involvement with the series. A very memorable day.
