|
|
Do you see what I see? Yes, nine wonderful Avengers themed Christmas banners. And the best part, you get to choose which will be the one and only official Avengers International Fan Forum 2013 Christmas Banner. Vote in the poll after giving them all a good inspection, because they are all very good.
When the poll closes after seven days, the designer of each banner will be named, credits where credits due. If one of the designers reveals which banner he or she made before this poll has closed, it will result in a disqualification of their entry, regardless of the number of votes it has received.
In case of a tie in the voting the Ministry will decide on a solution. But the more of you vote the less chance there is of a tie, and yes you may take that as a hint. Posting is allowed in this forum but please do not speculate on who made a banner, and most important: If you can't say something nice say nothing at all.

This poll will close seven days after opening, make sure you vote in time!
The winning banner will be displayed from the 21st until around the 3rd of January.
The order of the banners in this poll has been determined by the drawing of lots, the order reveals nothing about them whatsoever.
This is a link to the opening thread of this years competition. |

Everyone does such a great job every year! The entries never disappoint. Always so hard to decide. I'm having a particularly good chuckle over the fact that someone was cheeky enough to put the Tom Baker doll in for Gambit in number 7 (what with the rumours the head was recycled from the unmade Gambit action figure).
Good work, everyone! _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

Heehee, yes. There was a Purdey doll, wasn't there? One that was sold, not just a mock up? I'd love to know what the "Honor" doll is. Toys are very appropriate for Christmas (gifts to the infant - of all ages).
I wish we could have all the banners, on a rotating basis... because I've just had another close look at them all and the work that has gone into them is very impressive indeed, and they all make me happy. _________________ Last watched: "The Medicine Men" |

I was hard to decide too, though I was determined between numbers 6 and 9 - my eye immediately caught charm and atmosphere in it of our favorite series.
Numbers 2 and 4 is also not bad looking, but I still sought out the banners, where it would be more favorite characters - closer to Avengerworld.
Yeah, doll Gambit is some trick. However, if the author wanted to show all major Steed's counterparts in the images of dolls, then there is not enough dr. David Keel.
Overall, great kit of banners. _________________ Denis |

Numbers 8 and 9 are very well made, but number 2 feels so season four, it'll probably get my vote. |

Yes, the Purdey, Emma, and Tara dolls are all the genuine articles sold at the time (the Tara one was a bootleg, but hey, close enough). The Steed is from the more recent Product Enterprises set. Honor's is Pussy Galore Barbie that came out a few years back. It's a great idea for a banner, especially given that little doll Steed had at the top of his tree in Too Many Christmas Trees.
I went with number 6 in the end because it had a warm, Christmassy feel, but I was sorely tempted to go for 7, 8, and 9 as well. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I was pleasantly surprised to see the nine choices this year when I opened this thread! 3 reminds me of 'Too Many Christmas Trees', 6 is interesting in featuring reunions and 7 is just plain fun - will vote shortly and it could be any of the nine.
P.S. We just voted for 4, happy scenes and a nice greeting. _________________ Ron

I love all of these.
I can't decide between 6, 7 and 9 which are my absolute favourites. I am drawn to the ones where New and old Avengers feature, and those with most humour (the toys!squee) and although I love Cathy/Honor possibly most of all the Avengers ladies, I'm a huge fan of Tara so she has to be there too.
The retro TVs for each period are perfect. Having them half-unwrapped presents is a great idea.
The "To Old friends" sentiment is delightful and captures the warmth of watching The Avengers/TNA. You can't beat a Steedly champagne besides the fireplace.
I may have to pick randomly in the end - I will cogitate some more (and save them all anyway, so I can "rotate" through them during all the days of Christmas!)
Edited to add: Okay, I bit the bullet. It was hard to have to pass over the huge charms of numbers 9 and 7 (the cute bows on the tellies nearly swung it). I went for the "old friends" number 6. As I said: Delightful. _________________ Last watched: "The Medicine Men" |

Beautiful job! Just outstanding. I cannot decide but voted for #6 given the great pics on the mantle. Well it will be interesting to see the final decision. Happy Holidays! _________________ "He likes his tea stirred anti-clockwise." |

6,7 & 9 are the ones that most drew my attention. I love the wit behind 7.

Although I love number 8 as well, I have given my vote to number 2. Dark, warm and stylish, just like (season four) of the Avengers. |

It's 9 for me.
A creditable selection of potential Christmas banners, but that one's the one that grabs my eye over the others. _________________ Alan

Last year the choice was easy (Bentley & reindeer). This year, though I liked 2 and 8 and the sentiment and neat idea of No.6, I voted for the eye catching colour and simple message of No.4. _________________ Last watched : Intercrime |

I love number 9 - even if it misses out my favourite vintage. It's very clever. I also like number 1 for its simplicity, which I see as a good thing! I have to go for number 2, though. _________________ The Avengers: a product of the sixties and a timeless piece of sublime art |
