I've always wondered why there are many sites on the TV series The Avengers, but no page specifically about John Steed and Patrick Macnee.
Only Jodiff's Steedophilia was focused on John Steed and fortunately the page is still available on the Internet Archive.

And some years ago Rupert Macnee created a website for his father. When Patrick Macnee turned 92 years old in February, his site got a brand new look.

I talked a lot about it with Denis from Steedumbrella and told him that I always wanted to make a John Steed site and after many, many mails with Denis I finally decided to give it a try.

The site is almost finished and I think it will continue to grow over time, because John Steed is certainly one of the most interesting characters in TV history.

So here's a first preview...

Wonderful idea with preview, Ishtar.
I believe that the opening day of site will for all the fans a great surprise. Smile
Ishtar's site is veritable bowels of the Steed's apartment with interesting things that will allow many to look at character deeper and get answers to some questions. Researches sometimes mind-blowing, a real treasure for Avengerfans.

Do not miss opening day, ladies & gentlemens.
I look forward to the fresh news.

Oh I'm certainly going to look at this. I frequently travel with a nice Steed style umbrella from Fox Umbrellas and recently spent far too much money on a bowler from Lock & Co....

Fascinating!

I love the domestic scene at the breakfast table in Steed's first flat. The table legs are perched on blocks of wood, no doubt to get the breakfast thins into shot!

You might want to correct this:

THE AVENGERS which run from 1961 -1969 and from 1976 -1977 as
THE NEW AVENGERS.

to:

THE AVENGERS which ran from 1961 -1969 and from 1976 -1977 as

Cooking your coffee in John Steed style?

If your're looking for the coffee pot that John Steed used during season 5 and 6 this might be the link for you. There is the John Steed Russell and Hobbs pot on Ebay including the jug, sugar bowl and cups.

A very good start, ischtar!

Looking forward to seeing how the site develops.

Incidentally, on your Avengerland links page, you have my Avengers in Time section at The Avengers Declassified linking to an incorrect page (Cal Westray's site).

Best wishes,

Alan

The work is going on Very Happy ...

Today I finally found the clock from John Steed's third flat on the site of an online art gallery, it's the one on his secretary/desk, a beautiful clock.

Late 19 century Sevres style mantleclock

Maybe it is the one from The Avengers... Very Happy

And I was able to identify three paintings in Steed's first flat.
