100 buyer and a special interview with Alan Hayes for fans of the series:
Do not miss it!
http://steedumbrella.ru/interview_2014_original_Alan_Hayes.html
The purpose of the conversation was to consider the important aspects about the book, ask many questions of interest to potential customers. Turned out very interesting stuff, that opens a whole new section on the site Steedumbrella, "Interview".
It is completely posted in English. Among other things, you will find a unique material that Alan specially prepared for this interview page.
I wish you a pleasant journey into the world of a new book by Alan and Richard, With Umbrella, Scotch and Cigarettes

My hardback copy arrived today. I've only had a chance to flick through it so far, but it looks really good. Can't wait to read it in more detail, (particularly the section with synopsis of the two unmade story outlines). _________________ Paul |

Yes, the hardcovers all seem to have arrived today! Lulu have done a fine job getting the paperbacks to people quickly, but their hardcover lead time seems to have increased. Mildly frustrating. _________________ Alan

I only got back from a work trip last night so I'm very happy the book arrived as I will be able to give it a proper seeing-to over the next few days that I have off! _________________ Last watched: The Man in the Mirror. |

Having reached page 100, I can report that I’m thoroughly enjoying reading about the history of The Avengers in With Umbrella Scotch and Cigarettes, initially with the impressive research that has been carried out to assemble the setting up chapter. I’ve now progressed into the first season episode by episode breakdown and I’m learning more and more about the production aspects of the ‘lost’ season of the series. I love the layout and design aspects of this volume which presents a uniformed approach to each episodic production, complete with additional information under standard headings such as Production Brief, Matters Arising and Mentioned in Dispatches. If you want knowledge regarding the origins of The Avengers, then this is the book for you. |

Kindle should be available from tomorrow or Saturday. | What is EPUB? BTW I just ordered your book from Lulu. Sorry for my slowness as I am excited to read it- just juggling a lot now. It will take awhile to get it with Lulu. But even though it was basically the same price on amazon I refuse to support the way they are treating authors. Just the same, can't wait to read your book!

Hi Anti-Clockwise!
EPUB is a format that works on most e-readers bar Kindle. It can also be downloaded to desktop/laptop computers and read with free e-reader software such as Calibre or Adobe Digital Editions.

Thanks for ordering, and especially via Lulu. It does make a difference. Amazon cream off 2/3rds of our profit compared to Lulu and this is why the hardcovers are Lulu exclusives. We'd have to sell the hardcover at a ludicrous (and unfair) price just to earn a few pennies/cents on it at Amazon. _________________ Alan

Wrote it and published it, but that story is nothing new. Amazon squeeze any meaningful profit out of any number of publishers. I always try to order from source where possible, so the profit - such as it may be - goes direct to the writer and publisher rather than a third party. _________________ Alan

I also prefer the quality of the Lulu published books. Problem is, everyone looks for books on Amazon so using them directly or indirectly is almost a must. _________________ The Avengers: a product of the sixties and a timeless piece of sublime art |
