|
|
We have a great range of banners this year to choose from - one of them will grace the Forum until the end of January, the longest display period ever offered.
Vote in the poll after giving them all a good inspection, because they are all very good.
When the poll closes on Christmas EVE 2014, 5pm Pacific Standard Time, the designer of each banner will be named, credits where credits due. If one of the designers reveals which banner he or she made before this poll has closed, it will result in a disqualification of their entry, regardless of the number of votes it has received.
In case of a tie in the voting the Ministry will decide on a solution. But the more of you vote the less chance there is of a tie, and yes you may take that as a hint. Posting is allowed in this forum but please do not speculate on who made a banner, and most important: If you can't say something nice say nothing at all.

Some nice designs there, but one is wobbly heads and shoulders above the others for me!
Thanks to all who took the time to participate again this year! A great variety of ideas and approaches. _________________ Alan

Great entries!!
Sadly I didn't get time to do one, but I had a vague idea of doing something with the cars (I was going to have a baby version of each Avenger playing with a toy of their car-to-be as if the cars were presents under the tree, but haven't got the talent to do it).
So the cars and bike work for me - There are a few others I like just as much though. It's going to be a tough choice! _________________ Last watched: "The Medicine Men" |

Nice to see such a variety!
I fixed own look at the number 4 and number 5, after some hesitation I made my choice. _________________ Denis |

I liked a couple of these very much. The nodding heads remind me of those nodding dogs you used to see in the back of cars. _________________ The Avengers: a product of the sixties and a timeless piece of sublime art |

A great range this year, which is pleasing given the compressed deadline.
Sorry, Franky, I held off until the exact deadline! (In fact, one minute past by the time I posted the poll, which offended my OCD tendencies).
It looks like it's become a two horse race between two very worthy contenders but there are many dark horses in a deep field so you never know... _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Oops, just noticed I gave the deadline for voting as Christmas Day instead of Christmas EVE. This has been corrected.
You have 45.5 hours in which to vote. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

All splendid banners. How difficult only one banner to choose from! But am going to miss Steed above. _________________ "He likes his tea stirred anti-clockwise." |

So the final votes are in and it's congratulations to Darren for a superb animated banner which will grace the forum for the next five weeks. The new doberman really closed the gap in the last day of voting but his excellent black and white evening wear lineup just missed out.
1:
The new doberman - 3 votes
2:
Rhonda - 1 vote
3:
Dissolute - 0 votes, and fair enough...
4:
Darren Burch - 9 votes
5:
The new doberman - 7 votes
6:
Dissolute - 3 votes
7:
James - 1 vote
8:
Ischtar - 1 vote
Yes, I chucked a couple of weird ones in there myself...
Thank you everyone for taking part and for voting.
Apologies to Ischtar for getting the short straw in the draw for order on screen. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Forum now looks funny with this new banner - and it works fine and gives the desired shades festive mood.
Congratulations to Darren for a great idea.
I immediately did choice between this and the banner number 5, but ultimately chose the latter. To see all the Avengers together in a banner with good design in classical style was something from which I could not refuse. _________________ Denis |

Thanks, Guys.
To be honest it never even occurred to me to put Purdey in but if it had then I would have had to put Gambit and Keel and King and Smith and it would have got too crowded. It's always difficult to find decent smiling photos of the leads. I wanted to make something that was amusing so I'm pleased if it makes people laugh. It was a pretty rush job after I spent ages failing to get my original idea to work. I find it difficult to think horizontally so my ideas rarely fit the format.
I did love number 5 - I always approve of all the cast being included. |

Congrats! What was your original idea, may I ask? (No need to answer if it's a "trade secret" or can be used in another way in future!). _________________ Last watched: "The Medicine Men" |
