1. Arcos from They Keep Killing Steed. He makes Steeds.Smile
2. Travers from Fog. It's a great visual with the sword stick.
3. Earle from Curious Case of Countless Clues - loathsome villain.
4. Gregorie Auntie from Girl from Auntie. Alfred Burke is brilliant sending out his 'old lady' assassin.
5. The Groom - A funny thing happened... A nasty henchman who enjoys his work.

1. Miss Pegram in The $50000 Breakfast - So impervious to Steed's charm.
2. Holly Trent in The Master Minds - So fetching in her archer's kit.
3. Nutski in The Correct Way to Kill - Such a convivial rascal!
4. Cartney in A Touch of Brimstone - Love the opening scene with Mrs. Peel.
5. Armstrong in The Cybernauts - We need to cut him a little slack for his foul deeds. After all, he was only trying to save the human race from itself.

I think Paul Beresford has to be considered by far the absolute worst villain.

Did you not see him untie Mrs. Peel's coat when he was sending her outside to get Steed? Can't you imagine him doing more to her, with her unable to stop him, and with Steed forced to watch?

It's the creepiest villain scenario in the entire Avengers and I think we can be sure Beresford would have made use of Mrs. Peel and Steed to his disgusting and horrific wiles, when they had the watches on and were under his control.

Good thing Steed is incredibly strong, and was able to pull the Cybernauts arm onto the watch instead of his own wrist!

I'm with Mona - Beresford is probably the worst, bar none. The way he tries to drive a wedge between Steed and Mrs. Peel, then tries to "possess" both of them (making her attack Steed, explaining to Steed what he's going to do to them both). Give Cushing credit: he plays an excellent villain. It's one of the darker, more disturbing moments in Season 5.

Not knowing the Cathy Gale episodes too well yet (which I look forward to!) this is my choice at the moment. The high scale of villainy in ‘Death At Bargain Prices’ and ‘The Morning After’ crossed my mind but the characters somehow don’t enrage me that much. So my favourite villains that have come to mind as the first five are :

5. Angus De’Ath (Robert Urquhart) in ‘Castle De’Ath’ for killing his cousin and being scheming.
1. Cartney (Patrick Wyngarde) in ‘A Touch of Brimstone’ for killing Darcy and being misogynistic.
4. Von Schnerk (Kenneth J Warren) in ‘Epic’ for being prepared to kill with that saw and being obsessed.
2. Basil (Freddie Jones) in ‘Who’s Who’ for killing several agents and being ruthless.
3. Brinstead (William Franklyn) In ‘Killer’ for killings and being callous.

Favourite method of killing, in not being physically violent, is when someone dies out of fear.

I'm not sure who would be in my top 5 but to my mind the top 2 actors of Avengers villainy are unquestionably Peter Bowles and Peter Jeffrey.
