Smile Mood up, excellent news about identifications, Piers.

(I'm back in Avengerland from creative vacations).

I walked through some episode pages on your site, Piers, and it was nice to see the identities of John Timberlake, Bill Baskiville, Max Latimer, and many others well-known extras, we missed earlier.

One of most exciting update was "returning of John Cam". Cheers! I wonder where the confirmation came from, Piers?

Other surprise, I discovered the disappearance of the name of Graham Ashley from the episode page Silent Dust. There appeared doubt, Piers?

It is good to realize that the situation with the Alf Joint is finally solved.

And this is a big surprise for me - Mike Reid as one of riders in Mission .... Highly Improbable on screenshot below. Confused

Hmm, I always thought that Mike Reid in 1967 looked like:

If image of Mike from episode Mission .... Highly Improbable was confirmed by Spotlight, too, then we can assume that screenshot from site Moviedude actually presents image of actor with other name or there were two British stuntmen Mike Reid.

Recently I faced a similar problem in area of stuntmen. It turns there were two American stuntmen Jerry "Jack" Catron at the same time. Shocked Full name of famous Jerry is Jerry Eugene Catron, other - Jerry Aldridge Catron. Oh, my Steed!

I also thought about the situation with Larry Taylor in the episode The Grandeur That Was Rome, Piers.
I think most likely there was the following: as the birth name of Rocky Taylor is Laurey (Larry), then maybe first he participated in movie and TV films in his real name. Wink

That would be an error on my part, I will fix it. I'd noticed a few other names disappearing, hopefully I haven't lost anything.

Looks like the same chap to me.
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=mike+reid&tbm=isch

(Actually, that image you selected is the one that least looks like him, so maybe that's a mistake on Movie Dude's part)

Could be, I didn't know Rocky's name was actually Laurence. That would explain everything.[/img]

Today, dear fans, we turn to the identification of the extras in the series The New Avengers. Before, the accent was made only on the Avengers and when finally was decided to look in details beyond the line, was found many familiar faces.

Let's start with the most well-known extras.

John Wilder

John participated in several episodes of TNA as well as The Avengers.

His roles in The Avengers were already identified as:

Philandering MP & Egghead in episode The Master Minds (1965)

and a civilian guest in episode The Hour That Never Was (1965)

In TNA, I found John in three episodes:

as Seminar attendee in episode The Eagle's Nest

as Museum visitor in episode The Midas Touch

and as Party guest in episode Obsession

Thanks Denis, some great work there.

BTW, what do you think of this one? Jack Dearlove or Philip Webb? I can't tell if there's a moustache or not.

Thanks, Piers. Glad to work in this area. Wink

Confused Hmm, difficult to identify of this one on screenshot, but if the choice between Jack Dearlove and Philip Webb, I would say that person looks more like Jack Dearlove.

Tomorrow I will return for topic "The New Avengers", and now... cheers, finally, today I found who was playing Barman in episode Two's A Crowd (1965).

Tony Wall

Tony in episode Shadow of the Panther (1969) from TV series 'The Champions'.

Last image from site Aveleyman is slightly stretched to the sides.

One, screenshot below...

Some other members of the museum staff in episode The Midas Touch are:

Tony Mendleson

Lou Morgan

John More

While Tony Mendleson previously appeared in at the least three episodes of The Avengers, Lou Morgan and John More seems appearing for the first time in the adventure cycle of John Steed.

Today returning to Fred Machon, who, as turns, played RAF officer in TNA's episode Sleeper.

Fred was identified as a porter in the episode "Room without a View" by last year.

One of Photographers/Journalists in TNA episode The Lion and the Unicorn is... our "familiar"... Wink

Guy Standeven

Yes, Guy appeared, at least, in four Avengers episodes, all from Tara season.

Bidder in episode Have Guns - Will Haggle
Forensics in episode The Interrogators
Doctor in episode Wish You Were Here
Special services worker in episode Requiem

True Avengers extra! Smile

Guy was a true actor as well and after he died some actors were surprised he'd done so much extra work when he had such talent.

I found Guy pretty talented on the screen too, sadly I've never seen him in other roles than as an extra. Sad Interestingly, he was first person as extra, I learned ever - I remember how I looked through the Piers' site many years ago for extras, and I knew no one except Guy. He was definitely an actor who attracted attention, I think.

One of Guards in episode Trap is one of popular extras to such an extent, that perhaps it would be strange if he did not appear in The New Avengers. Wink

Maxwell Craig

Max already appeared in one episode of the TNA earlier, as Gangmember in episode Sleeper.

It seems our Max grew a regular mustache from 1974, but after 10 years shaved them off.

In TV series The Avengers, Max appeared in at least four episodes:

Wilson in Murdersville

Guard in Have Guns - Will Haggle

One of forensics in The Interrogators

Thug in Homicide and Old Lace

Thanks, Piers. Posting for other identification will do tomorrow, and now some interesting departure. Wink

I checked the IMDb page for the episode Trap and it turned out that Maxwell Craig had already been listed there before. In addition, there listed Denis Chin as Pilot. Curiously enough. Confused

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0659333/combined

I watched the episode "More Deadly Than the Sword" of "Adam Adamant Lives!", and did screenshot for Denis as Guard.

Hmm... Confused

Hard to say if it's the same person, despite some common features are available. Will to look for other works with him.

Back to TNA episode The Midas Touch again. Wink Medical officer is...

Terry Sartain

Surprisingly, but seems this famous extra played only in one episode of whole Avengers epic. Confused
