I've got a great French Avengers book called 'Chapeau Melon et bottes de cuir' written by Eric Cazalot and Philippe Paygnard in 1996. I was fascinated to read the French titles for the episodes. Some of the titles are self explanatory, such as Les Cybernautes, Le Tigre Cache, Miroirs, or my very favourite Clowneries.
See how many of these less obvious ones you can work out Exclamation

1. Dans sept jour , le deluge.
2. Le club de L'enfer
3. La porte de la mort
4. Les evades du monastere
5. Je vous tuerai a midi
6. Meurtre au programme
7. Les espions font le service
8. L'heritage Diabolique
9. Camera Meurtre
10.Le Visage

I love these French titles, and as you can see several are not mere translations. See how many out of 10 you can guess. No cheating. I trust you! Smile Even if like me your French is minimal. you can still work them out as we all know the plots! Rich.

10) I am sure this is a bad guess Rich but Le visage meaning the face reminds me of the villain in," Who was that Man I saw you with?" The villain is constantly getting spa treatments and the opening sports him with a green clay mask.
#3 Deaths Door
#1 "in 7 days the flood"--Surfeit of H20
#2 Hell fire club- Touch of Brimstone
5 "I will kill you at noon"-- Noon Doomsday
7. "The spies are the service"--Is this correct way to kill?
6. "murder programmed-Is this Return of the cybernauts?
4. Castle of Death?
9. "Murder Camera"--Is this House that Jack Built???
8. Danger Makers????????

Without checking - I'm guessing #1 is The Town of No Return and #4 is Get-A-Way!

Great reasoning skills Margo! Smile You have 4 correct so far! The face should lead you to the correct title eventually, but I'm afraid it's not Who was that man I saw you with? Your next 4 are spot on! Smile Your last 3 answers make sense, but I'm afraid are incorrect. CLUE: One key word in the translation will lead you to the correct title. Rich.

Just realised I'm getting my Towns of No Return and Surfeits of H2O seriously confused. Oh, the embarrassment. Why do I always expect to see Jonah in the former? That's what it's like to have my mind... Embarassed

I thought the same at first Piers, but I have a hunch that when they use the term "programmed"murder they were referring to a computer.

Margo, you've solved #6! Very Happy Piers, Margo guessed correctly that programme referred to a computer, and Killer is indeed the episode in question. That's 6 correct so far. Your other guesses are well reasoned, but incorrect. Keep trying. Smile A clue for #7: service may not refer to what you at first assume. Idea I love your ideas for German titles too. I don't have a German book, but I'll look into it.
By the way when these have been solved please feel free (any of you Exclamation )to add your own game here. I'll add more myself too. Smile Rich.

Thanks Rich. More French title games are welcome but German could be interesting too. I cannot find a list of names or I would do it myself. What was the German title for TA?
Well if Le Visage is not Who's Who then the only many faces were of Steed's in Stay Tuned. Not sure if I can guess the rest as they are pretty tough.

Le visage is indeed Stay Tuned Margo! Very Happy I actually thought this might refer to the door knocker shaped like a Chinese face. That's 7 out of 10 Exclamation You've guessed what I thought was the most difficult. Smile
The German title for the show was Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone.
Rich.

Thank you so much Rich. But I don't think that was the most difficult since you gave me the clue. And the other 3 are still in question. Can anyone else help? Where is Darren or Mike or James when you need them!

Well done Johnny! Very Happy That's all 10 solved. The words 'service', 'heritage' and 'camera' reveal which episodes they are. Rich.

Here's 10 more French titles for you to solve. This will have to be the last as the remaining ones are too obvious, but I'll have a look at the Spanish titles next.

1.L'homme au sommet (The man at the top)
2.Faites de beaux reves (Sweet dreams)
3.Affectueusement votre (Affectionately yours)
4.Les chevaliers de la mort (The death knights)
5.Le document disparu (The document has disappeared)
6.Un dangereux marche (A dangerous walk)
7.Coeur a Coeur (Heart to heart)
8.La dynamo vivante (Living dynamo)
9.Haute tension (High tension)
10.Abus de confiance (Breach of trust)

No peeking Exclamation I trust you. Smile Rich.
