I need to keep practicing, Countess! Cool She looks like a tuppenny tart with all that make up. Not the effect I was going for. I'll keep trying ...

Hope you're feeling better. I'm an admirer of your wallpapers.

LOL! ...glad you didn't take my comment the wrong way.
Thanks for your wishes too. Smile I've slowly been healing, but I'm still not feeling half as good as I'd like - recently been diagnosed with osteopenia & emphysema besides the healing rib.
As for the wallpapers, thank you so much for your compliment. Very Happy
Trying to make them can be very time-consuming and you wouldn't believe how many I just scrap. The most time I've ever spent on a single wallpaper was about 13 hours. I think I've been creating fan art for about the past 8-10 years (on and off), and what I have to work with is really primitive. I've got an old version of Paint, and just recently started to retouch things with Picassa photo viewer.
What kind of art program are you using?

I'm sorry to hear you're still having such a rough time, Countess. I hope things take a good turn for you soon. For the next decade or so! Very Happy

Argh! It's one of the kids from 'Village of the Damed' all grown up! lol!

I like your logic here, but I don't really mind how it takes. For me, it's a good and creative distraction from worries. I just can't sit at the computer as long as I used to since I experienced the broken rib. It's healed kind of weird, so if I lean back on it, I can always count on some pain.
I've never heard of Picnik, and Picassa is one that I'm just beginning to learn about, but I've been using Paint for quite a while. The part that's most time consuming is making a cut-out of the subject. Once I'ce got that done, than all I have to do is figure out what kind of background I'll use, or in some cases what wording I'll add.
In any case, I'll look forward to seeing more of your goodies too.

Here's a request for those of you with an artistic flair. I recently bought a Mac but can't find any Avengers wallpapers in HD (1920x1080).

Anyone fancy having a go...?

Please? Smile

Sorry, Paul! My computer is very limited on space and it has a smaller monitor. The largest ones I've been successful at creating are 800x600.
I haven't looked lately (and not sure of their sizes), but have you tried Purr: The Avengers - De Wrekers? The wallpaper page for that site is: http://home.scarlet.be/~pvandew1/avengers/foto03.htm
Good Luck with your search. Wink

Thanks Countess. There don't appear to be any of the size I'm after on that website, although it is a good one Smile

Laughing ...love that quote!
I'm sorry that they didn't have anything to offer in the size you need. In most cases, I have problems trying to find decent size images to create wallpapers that are even the 800x600 size. Either that, or my computer can't handle the really big images, and it'll freeze up when I try to do anything with them.
I'm curious - if you try to save an image as a wallpaper from a smaller size, does it come out really distorted, or what happens? I know that if I try to enlarge any of the ones I've made, they look pretty bad (magnified pixels).
Anyways, if you haven't tried it, maybe you can test it with this ->

Thanks, Dandy! Very Happy I was really happy with the way it came out.
You might like this too Arrow

There's 145 wallpapers at the Diana Rigg group that I started at fanpop - so far. Some of them are calendars, but if you haven't looked, there may be others you enjoy too. Wink

Thanks again Very Happy

...thought I'd change things a bit and add an oldie - one of my first attempts at a Christmas wallpaper with The Avengers.
