|
|
Do you remember those puzzles in the back of kids’ magazines in the Seventies?
What is this everyday object seen from an unusual angle?
Well, this Christmas we have a very particular Avengers take on those puzzles.
Avengerholic is making the most detailed replica prop he’s ever attempted along with a unique Avengers presentation box. Nobody except him knows what it will be and everyone is in the running to win!
Here is the puzzle:
The image below is a clue to the finished replica, whoever can guess correctly what’s going to be built gets to own it - it could be the entire prop shot from a very strange angle, just a small section of the prop itself, or even part of another prop that's closely associated with the prop.
It's an item that originates from a point in Avengers history which could be any time or place from 1961 to 1998, from Hendry to Thorson, The New Avengers, the movie, from the books or the comics (so that narrows it down a bit!)
In the case of more than one person guessing correctly, Avengerholic will adjudicate as to the winner – either by first come first served, or a tie-break puzzle. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

My first thought was that it could be the Dr Primble's hi-tech laser-gun from From Venus With Love ? _________________ James/Mrs Emma Peel |

I thought it was the broadcast power thing from The Positive Negative Man, but now I'm not so sure. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

I'm flummoxed, and I don't mind admitting it. Clever competition.
At first I thought Sir August de Wynter's staff, but it doesn't look right. Not sure if what we're looking at is the prop-to-be or something showing a reflection of the prop-to-be.

What you are looking at Alan is either a part of the actual prop, or maybe the entire prop itself but shot from a strange angle. I actually don't think it's that difficult, but then I know what it is, so maybe that's why I think it's easy It's a terrific item, and I don't think that you wouldn't necessarily need to be a collector to enjoy owning it, you just need to be a fan of The Avengers

It looks like the brain transfer machine from Who's Who???, seen from above, but there's no way you could fit that in an airmail satchel unless you're doing a scale model! _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Maybe it's Tyssen's "time machine" but I'm still angling for Haworth's portable broadcast power device at this point. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Anyone want a final stab at this before it closes at midnight on the 31st Dec 2016 ? No ? I guess I'll get to keep it then
The reproduction prop is nearing completion, as soon as it's finished I'll post a picture of it, revealing what it, and hence the competition prize was.
Happy New Year Folks |

I haven't given up! I've been going through the stills on the Blu-Ray discs in the hope of it leaping out at me. I'm about 25% through so far.
On Christmas day we played the game "Picture This" and I discovered just how bad I am at identifying objects. So your prop is probably safe from me!

Remember, it's the Emma Peel era, that encompasses the tv series, comic strips, books and of course the 1998 movie |

I used to own the only surviving, complete, original, production used full scale prop of one of those bees, it used to hang from my lounge ceiling |
