I was recently watching the British film, The Informers (1963) and found myself counting the number of Avengers actors/actresses in the cast.

So here is another interesting quiz question.
Which feature film contains the greatest number of guest Avengers/New Avengers actors/actresses in the cast.
Can you beat The Informers (1963) with an incredible 15 Avengers actors/actresses?

Katherine Woodville as Peggy, Hot Snow, Series 1, 1961 and as Laure in Propellant 23, Series 2, 1962.
Margaret Whiting as Jacquetta Brown, The Yellow Needle, Series 1, 1961.
Colin Blakely as Mickle, Murdersville, Series 5, 1967.
Ronald Hines as Dr Haymes, Murdersville, Series 5, 1967.
Kenneth J Warren as Zibbo, Girl on the Trapeze, Series 1, 1961,
as Felder, Intercrime, Series 3, 1963, as Fingers, Little Wonders, Series 3, 1963 and as ZZ von Schnerk, Epic, Series 5, 1967.

Peter Bowles as Neil Anstice in Second Sight, Series 3, 1963,
as John Harvey, Dial A Deadly Number, Series 4, 1965,
as Thyssen in Escape in Time, Series 5, 1967 and
as Ezdorf in Get-A-Way, Series 6, 1968.
Roy Kinnear as Private Jessop, Esprit de Corps, Series 3, 1964,
as Hickey, The Hour That Never Was, Series 4, 1965,
as Quilby, The See-Through Man, Series 5, 1967 and
as Happychap, Bizarre, Series 6, 1969.
Michael Coles as Verret, The Bird Who Knew Too Much, Series 5, 1967.
Garfield Morgan as Gilbert, The Fear Merchants, Series 5, 1967,
as Manservant, Game, Series 6, 1968, and as Sexton, Take-Over, Series 6, 1969.
Brian Wilde as Raven, The Fear Merchants, Series 5, 1967.
Allan Cuthbertson as Lord Melford, Death’s Door, Series 5, 1967.

Bernard Goldman as Mr Teddy Bear, Mr Teddy Bear, Series 2, 1962.
Donal Donnelly as Vincent O’Brien, Dead on Course, Series 2, 1962.
Harry Landis as Harry, Little Wonders, Series 3, 1964.
John Cowley as Big Sid, Little Wonders, Series 3, 1964.

That's absolutely brilliant Piers Smile
34 is an amazing total - I wonder if anyone can beat that - I somehow doubt it.
Quite a few of the Informers cast were uncredited too. Must watch The Assassination Bureau again. I agree, does look like a reunion for former Avengers actors Smile

My mind immediately sprung to The Assassination Bureau, although I am surprised its 34!
I am going to consider watching The Informers.

Correction, it's 37 actors and 5 crew (although 2 of the crew are stuntmen already covered in the 37 actors). So that's a grand total of what must be an unbeatable 40 alumni.

Which TV series would have the most common actors with The Avengers when counting for all episodes?

The Saint would be the most likely candidate that comes to my mind.

Yes, The Saint is my guess too - I have 2390 cross-overs in my database, and only 1031 for Doctor Who which would seem the other likely candidate. Dangerman is further back at 848.

I don't have The Protectors, The Persuaders or Man in a Suitcase in there, but their runs were rather short so they're not contenders anyway.

Indeed, when I researched the biographies of the various performers involved in The Avengers, most of them took part in the series The Saint. Wink

However, to take the question a stage further, if we look at credited cast actors only, then I think The Informers may lead with 9 unless anyone can find a film with more credited Avengers actors/actresses Smile

Katherine Woodville... Mary Johnoe
Margaret Whiting... Maisie Barton
Colin Blakely... Charlie Ruskin
Ronald Hines... Goeff Lewis
Kenneth J Warren... Lou Waites
Roy Kinnear... Shorty
Brian Wilde... Lipson
Allan Cuthbertson... Smythe
Michael Coles... Ben

I'd not considered limiting to just credited actors but I'd bet there's a Carry On or Norman Wisdom film out there with a fair number.

Yes, that's what I was thinking - a 60's comedy or 70's sex-comedy ensemble casts.

My offering does not quite beat The Informers but has a good Avengers connection.

Parting Shots, directed by Michael Winner includes:

Diana Rigg
Joanna Lumley
Gareth Hunt
John Cleese
Trevor Baxter - Brown Fitch in Eagles Nest
William Wilde - Get-A-Way
Nicky Henson - Tunnel of Fear
Roland Curram - Honey for the Prince

Ron Purdie Assoc Producer

Oliver Reed who I don't think we can count.

That's excellent, Hatpeg Smile
I think I've found another leader - it's the original Dad's Army feature film made in 1971.
Nearly the entire Dad's Army main cast have appeared in The Avengers, apart from James Beck and Ian Lavender.
Appropriately for Halloween, I think there are 13 Avengers actors in the Dad's Army film cast.

Dad’s Army (1971)

13 Avengers’ credited cast members
Arthur Lowe
John Le Mesurier
Clive Dunn
John Laurie
Arnold Ridley

Liz Fraser
Bernard Archard
Derek Newark

Paul Dawkins
Roger Maxwell
Dervis Ward
George Roubicek
Bernard Severn
