Shocked I'm really shocked.
I learned this news by accident when I went to the English-language Wikipedia. I didn't believe it at first (decided it was spam) and went to check the news on Google.
...
I'm sitting in a shocked state. Shocked
Diana always looked so full of life.

I'm sure these sad news will mark the departure of some people from the Avengers fandom. Those for whom Diana was the main person.
In any case, for a moment I feel the end of a great TV era too. Shocked

This is a massive disaster. Grieve and remember.

It is shocking. You expect these people to live forever, sadly nobody does. That's both Honor and Diana gone this year. Only Linda now to carry the Avengers torch. I feel the urge to watch a Peel Avengers episode straight away.
A very sad day indeed.

A friend of mine text me this news just a few minutes ago. I just couldn't believe it!!!

What a devastating blow. One of the great actors, (actresses) there can be no doubt.

I really am so so gutted. As a collector of Avengers memorabilia and a massive fan, the joy she gave in her acting in The Avengers alone is so tangible.

Oh Diana, God Bless You Angel!!

We will all miss you so so terribly.

The moment I saw Diana Rigg on The Avengers I found my favorite TV show, and it still is.

Still processing this news. . . .

There are a lot of fans who discovered the show long after it was over. But for those of us in the 60+ age group, this is not only the loss of a great actress but the loss of a piece of our lives. (I'm typing this with a lump in my throat.). All the puerile "sex symbol to adolescent boys" aside, Diana's Emma Peel taught us to value a woman who was intelligent, gutsy, vibrant, fun-loving, compassionate, and equal to her mate. Her role certainly affected my choice of the woman I wanted to marry. Bravo and RIP, Diana.

I believe Julie Stevens is still with us.

I told my Russian mother this news - she is shocked too. She asked the reason, I replied that Diana had been diagnosed with cancer in March of this year. She had round eyes and said that her most favorite foreign actress had died. Most favorite foreign actress!!!
The state of shock continues. Shocked

I have no words.

I can only quote my friend Christopher Guard, who paid poignant tribute when he said just now "I don't usually witter on when special people die. But the news of Di Rigg's passing has really upset me. We worked together three times, in movies and on radio, and we just kind of got each other. She was wry, witty, wickedly damning sometimes, sublimely professional and utterly human. Beautiful. :_( :_("

So is Joanna Lumley, isn't she? The New Avengers do count...

Awww bless her. And she was just in the new All Creatures Great and Small last Sunday.

Gutting to lose both Honor and now Diana in the same year.

Thoughts go to her family and friends.

What a magnificent legacy she leaves. So much quality entertainment. And I'm thankful I got the chance to see her live in the 90's at the Nationals production of Mother Courage.

Thank you, Diana

RIP

Such sad news today. Only five months after Honor's death. Diana was a true pioneer. I wish I'd seen her act on stage, but at least I did see her at Elstree three years ago giving a talk on The Avengers. Last night I watched her delightful performance in the new version of All creatures great and small, and hours later she was gone. She'll be sorely missed. RIP Diana. x

As with everyone else here, the news of Dame Diana's passing is a shock and saddening. From the very moment I discovered The Avengers, and at the same time Mrs Emma Peel, back in the early 80s when Channel 4 repeated the monochrome series, it has been a part of my life. Diana had 'something' - a quality many in tributes have tried to identify - which made the series special. What a delight to discover, later on, there had been other Avengers, too, and to develop a love for them all.

Thank you, Miss Rigg, for the hours of enjoyment watching you defend us all from the diabolical masterminds.

Mrs Gale and Mrs Peel are together now - what a formidable partnership - reunited with Steed himself.

Goodnight, sweet lady.

2020 and cancer, you are hereby ordered to divorce and get each of thine selves out of here. May she rest in peace.

While Wonder Woman was my favourite childhood superhero, Diana Rigg’s Emma Peel was my first experience of a character I might actually conceivably try to be like in adult real life: brilliant scientist, wryly humourous, chic, dignified even in wacky situations, uncompromising in her assumption that others would respect her intelligence and capabilities.
Diana Rigg as a person was also admirable - her skills as an actress were top-notch and she was a master of her craft. I thank my husband for his 2019 birthday gift - a ticket to see her speak on her career, in London. The evening was memorable; I regret not meeting her, but am grateful to have experienced seeing her live at her “home” - the theatre.

I'm not sure I can put in words what I feel right now. I watched "From Venus with Love" just last night and it was a delight, as always, to watch her act. Such delivery and screen presence!
