On the UK Britbox is an excellent documentary called Hollywood Bulldogs about the British stuntmen of the 60's and 70's who ended up working in Hollywood.

Amongst the contributors are stunt arranger and director Ray Austin, Paul Weston (who doubled for Macnee quite a bit) and Rocky Taylor (another Macnee double and recognisable when you know his face).

They have some fascinating stories about their time in the business - mentioning the Avengers and showing clips.

There are a few horror stories later in the film. Paul Weston talks about being on fire for License to Kill and running out of oxygen and Rocky Taylor talks about leaping off a burning building in a Michael Winner film and ruining his career - then getting threatened by Winner (vile man).

It's well worth a look if you're interested. I really enjoyed it.

Sounds excellent, thanks for the heads-up! It's always great to hear from Rocky. He popped up in the "Unsung Hero" segment of the Elis James and John Robins show on BBC Radio 5 Live some months back. Mentioned his dad Larry too (who appears in many 60s films and TV shows). Of course he's not unsung to us Smile

I'm not surprised about hearing about nasty things that Michael Winner did..I remember Burt Lancaster didn't have much good to say about him...in either ' Lawman' (1970) or Scorpio (1973)

I didn't realise that Rocky Taylor's dad was also in the Avengers - as soon as he mentioned the gap in his Dad's teeth I registered who he meant - a very familiar face to many ITC shows.
