Thanks for the interest and orders for the book. It's got off to a good start and we sold a good number of copies yesterday.

I started reading On Target and Stay Tuned again in lockdown and really enjoyed them and thought a lot of the great content should be put back out there, as many new fans will have never read them. I contacted Dave and he loved the idea and is still very much a fan of the show. He said let's do it but do it for a worthy charity.

So we worked together over the year picking out some favourite interviews and articles, some remain the same as they did in the magazine others we added new illustrations to along with vintage ads and other items of the era.

I really wanted it to be a lovely nostalgic chunky Christmas read and at 244 pages I think it does that nicely. I really hope you like reading the content again. Attached is a preview of the interior and the full cover.

the graphics and lay out ....look very good...first rate !

Fascinating - made with love. Razz I can't wait to pick up this book, get hold of Dave Rogers' fanzines and start comparing, finding coincidences and differences. At the same time, refresh memory with material.

P.S./ This original book gave me the idea now that maybe we will survive when we see some release of edition with songs by Julie Stevens from The Avengers. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Wink

I'm really glad these high quality articles have been brought to the attention of Sam Clemens, he deserves to realise how well his dad's work is (and always was) regarded. It stands the test of time.

Yes, it's great to see Sam Clemens involvement. Plus he has a personal link with The Avengers himself now, having been closely involved with the two most recent volumes of Big Finish's comic adaptations audiobooks.

He did some acting on the Series 1 missing episodes releases too. Volume 1, I think. Ah yes, credit: Samuel Clemens (Scott / Wilson / Borsh).

Sam was amazing, I dropped him a message and we were talking on the phone within a couple of days. He is a very busy man but found the time to write a lovely afterword and supplied an image of himself with his brother and dad that I don't think has been seen before.

Dave's extensive interview with Brian is in the book and when Sam receives his copy it will be the first time he will have read it which is lovely.

Woohoo!!! I checked in my front shed and the postperson had put it in there!!!

Opened it, looks marvellous.

On the downside this may be the last thing I buy from Lulu because the Lulu website won't reset my password (it fails to recognise my old one, but when it sends a renewal email it never arrives, even in the Spam/junk folder) - bit of a nuisance as I wanted to buy the Blakes 7 calendar.

Well so far I've read the Honor, Diana and Linda interviews and they're brilliant. Also lots of the little snippets which are time capsules now about things like the Telly Addicts questions, all leavened by Dave Rogers' great sense of humour reacting to some of the crazy things TV programmes of the 80s and 90s said about The Avengers. I will read some of the more in-depth things like the 3-part Brian Clemens interview soon - at the moment I've been dipping in and out, appreciating little bits. The artwork is truly gorgeous! There are some things I didn't know about or didn't remember like the missing adventures publications and other unusual ideas lost in the mists of time. I'm enjoying the bloopers too having just watched a lot of season 2 and 3 episodes.

This is wonderful to hear, so pleased you are enjoying the book.

We were in two minds about putting things like readers letters and talking about Telly Addicts etc in there but I really wanted it to capture that era of Avengers fandom. So nice to hear that you like it.

The book is doing really well, we have sold almost 200 copies to various parts of the world in just over a week and made a decent chunk of money for the charity.

Appreciate the support Smile

Yes, it's a thing of beauty for sure. I'm glad to say the text is well up to the standard of the photos and art which are obviously really lovingly created, selected and presented. This was a golden age of fandom when enthusiasm, talent and memories brought people together as much as the very rare repeats and nascent video releases (which were as rare as gold dust).

The "ephemera" is an important part of the charm and I'm so glad you chose to put it in. Like The Avengers itself, it is both of its time and timeless, speaking to enthusiasts everywhere in the timestream Smile.

On the plus side, we may not have had the programme to watch (a few satellite channels like Bravo got interested later on and the joy fandom found in these reruns is flagged up here) but we had the stars and creators of the show who were only too happy to share the fun. Beautiful times, and captured by Dave's magazines like a set of precious gems and now, a voice from the past that brings it all back to be a joyful present.

This book has made me happier than anything in the past few years. Not just nostalgia though - there's stuff of real interest to new viewers here that should not be lost to time.
