Wild facial hair such as sideburns was de rigeur in that time frame - the dawning of the 70's. I had the sideburns, patterend shirts, flared trousers, and all of the other "fashions" of the time . . . as much as I hate to admit it - and my obvious lack of fashion sense.
I re-grew them a few years ago to participate in a U.S. Civil War reenactment - a low-level paen to General Ambrose Burnside.
As to Tara's style, all one has to do to erase the memories of the ill-chosen pantsuits is to look at:

Usually Linda looks gorgeous, but what was she thinking when she decided to go out in this outfit?

I love Linda but no one could accuse her of growing old gracefully.
Great legs though. |

This was new to me. I thought at first this was fan-made, but probably not...

It's an original trailer isn't it? Probably something shown in America.
There's a few interesting shots in there. There's an alternative shot of Tara kick putting on Steed's bowler from the tag scene in Curious Case of Countess Clues. And unless it's completely escaped my memory, that shot of Tara kissing Steed on the cheek and then sitting down with a drinks carton isn't in any episode? |

I was wondering the same thing Darren. Does anyone know if that particular scene was ever shown at any time and from what episode? It sure has piqued my curiousity. _________________ Every parent has a favorite child. Usually the child belongs to the neighbors. |

Did you buy the Best of Tara King Lumiere video boxset too?
I'm fairly certain that the scene doesn't actually appear in any of the episodes or could have been a deleted scene - I'm thinking it was either from Split or Get-a-way. |

Isn't this one of the trailers Allard posted awhile back? I think it's from the Lumiere videos as well.
I must admit, there's a shot of Tara drinking out of that milk carton or whatever in one of the calendars as well, just recently, and I couldn't place it either. _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I am speaking about the producers experiment with her hair. The thought that they should try her as a blond went teribly wrong. Thats why she wore a wig in so many episodes. She also had nice shoulder length hair. Unfortunately it was so damaged that they had to cut the bad off. So she could grow it back. Hence the wigs and eventually her own short hair. She must have been very angry to be subjected to that.I worked at Associated British Corp. at the time. Why do actors let themselves be gunea pigs like that. _________________ On AIR,On LINE and On the GO! |

I don't know that Linda was angry about what happened so much as she was upset and embarrassed to go out until it grew back. As for why actors allow themselves to be gunea pigs, that's simple enough to answer.
A. Money
B. "Suffering for their art"
C. Money.
D. Money.
And in Linda's case, being naive. She was extremly young, inexperienced, and willing to simply do as she was told, though I think the damage done to her hair as well as other factors may have opened up her eyes just a bit. _________________ Every parent has a favorite child. I believe I may have worked out where that scene comes from.
I reckon it could be the original tag scene from Split!. The tag scene that we get is clearly filmed a lot later on in the production as Linda has her own thick hair. I reckon that for whatever reason they decided against the original Split! tag scene that shows Tara give Steed a peck on the cheek and drink from a carton and filmed a replacement later on. She's wearing an outfit that she only ever wears in one scene in Split! that takes place in Steed's flat.
It is possible that the original tag scene was actually broadcast in America but they added the new version for the UK broadcast. |

How wonderful it would be if someone could find that whole scene and post it. _________________ Every parent has a favorite child. Usually the child belongs to the neighbors. |

That's very probable. In which case, we've uncovered a missing tag! _________________ Last Watched: Who Was That Man I Saw You With?

I have seen this photo before, but from where I couldn't tell you. If I remember correctly, there was more of a close up in the photo I saw and it was of Linda. Damn! Now I'm going to have to wake up the few brain cells I have left to see if I can remember where and when I saw this photo!
Thanks alot Barry. You know thinking makes my head hurt! _________________ Every parent has a favorite child. Usually the child belongs to the neighbors. |
