And it is not known how long it will take to reanimate your enthusiasm. |
exactly...it boils down to what goals you have for the page(s) forum, etc...hopefully, this new host will work out..etc |

Well, I put my test pages through their paces and it would make more sense to make series 1 like the others, as some of the page weights are too large for mobile. The only other pages like series 1 are the pages for those weird German 8mm films - Minikillers and Das Diadem/Der Goldene Schlüssel.
They all received a 100% score for accessibility, and 97% for performance though! _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

It looks like the situation is resolved. Since we live in mobile time, then it really is more sense to make series 1 like the others, according to your tests, Piers. _________________ Denis |

Right, thanks for your support everyone, series 1 is now in line with the others. I've checked pages here and these but if you notice anything I've stuffed up, let me know. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Looking good. I've jumped around a few episodes and it seems to be all working fine. I find the TV Crimebusters Annual more amusing every time. Surprised Big Finish haven't expanded it into an epic audio series. There was a great page in it all about criminals' rhyming slang, entitled "Tumble This Guff". "Oi! Shut the Rory!" _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

I'm thinking of sprucing up my plot summaries by removing the in-line actor credits in parentheses.
For instance, instead of:
Quote: | Sub-lieutenant Crane (Danvers Walker) is ushered into the office of Captain Nash (Noel Coleman) by the escorting officer, Williams, (Richard Pescud). Nash informs Crane that he’s to be held under close arrest, accused of passing on information of a top secret nature to a person or persons unknown. Nash hopes he has a good defence and Crane replies, “Yes sir, I’m not guilty” and is led away. |
It would become:
Quote: | Sub-lieutenant Crane is ushered into the office of Captain Nash by the escorting officer, Williams. Nash informs Crane that he’s to be held under close arrest, accused of passing on information of a top secret nature to a person or persons unknown. I personally find it convenient to have the names of the performers listed in the plot summaries, as this contributes to a better perception (sometimes you read material and cannot remember what a performer looks like in the appropriate role, you need to go to another page and study it - when a performer is listed in the story, you don't have to go to another page or waste time remembering the name). _________________ Denis |

I agree with Denis, I find it is useful mental reference to have the names once, when the character first appears, especially if they have a fair bit of activity in the episode. Maybe not needed for minor ones who are only mentioned once or twice in the summary. _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

I would concur..however, even with the 'minor' ones, you end up with a total picture... |

I do like looking at the cast pictures. I find myself doing that while reading the synopses! _________________ Last watched: "The Gilded Cage" |

Okay, best of both worlds, I'll leave them in but re-code it so you can choose to not show them.
Seeing Franky's note, maybe I should extend it to turn them into pop-up cast photos in line with the plot. _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

as franky commented...it may indeed, be a lot of extra work. will it be worth the added effort. yes. it all boils down to time. do you have it, or feel up to the added task. |
