Brian Clemens was on Anglia TV tonight (15/6) being interviewed at his home in Ampthill.
It was only on for a few minutes but interesting to see inside his office.

He had lots of books on TV , The Avengers, and writing awards in his house, and they showed his old typewriter that he still uses.

He hopes his next project will be a film based on The Professionals.

Nice to see he's still around and working - thanks for the update. He must heading towards 80 now.

Thanks for letting us know! No chance of a clip, I suppose?

It is good to hear that Brian's still keeping busy, typewriter and all. Patrick used to call him the fastest two-finger typest in the world. Very Happy

On a recent Doctor Who dvd, he appeared in a great documentary about his best friend and Avengers writer Dennis Spooner - they seemed to have a really great relationship.

Yeah, that was really nice to see (the DVD feature that is).

Any chance of a transcript of the Anglia interview, please?

Does he still live at the farm where Tara King's fight in Have Guns - Will Haggle was filmed?

Most of Noon Doomsday was shot there as well, wasn't it?

I think you're right. I came across it in the interview he did with Dave Rogers, but couldn't remember the actual episode. Have Guns pops up in my mind for some reason.

Yes he still lives at the farm.

I once saw him in Frinton on Sea, Essex, when he attended a local production of one of his plays at the Summer Theatre.
I would have liked to have spoken to him but he was with his friends and I didn't want to intrude.

I wrote to him afterwards and had a nice reply.
He told me I should have made myself known to him - he is always pleased to talk to fans of his work.

I will try and get a clip - but can't promise.

I didn't think Have Guns sounded quite right, but I haven't watched it in ages, so there might have been filming there as well. Pretty sure about Noon, though.

I'd love to see a clip, if you can manage it, hatpeg (no pressure, though Very Happy ).

Ah, I see.

When Timeless says 'pretty sure' I think she's being modest. She's very clued up. Cool

I try. Wink

The farm made for a pretty good episode, actually--half the fun of that one is watching Tara run around all over the place. Talk about bringing your work home with you. Laughing

I've redeemed myself a little bit. The fight scene from Have Guns Will Haggle was indeed filmed on Brian Clemens own property.

http://www.the-mausoleum-club.org.uk/timescreen/Trial%2013/location.htm

Have Guns - Will Haggle [Feb 1968] contained additional filming done here in the town. Incidentally, the Tara duel set in the garden seen in this episode was completed at Brian Clemens' Farm Cottage in Buckinghamshire

Most certainly not bad. I just want to feel comfortable knowing that if someone comes across our forum, they will know that we strive to be as family friendly as we can be without going overboard.

I most certainly will admit that to my old fashioned way of thinking, some terms, harmless as they may seem to the general population, may strike me as inappropriate and will cause me to react knee jerk style. In this case, I reacted based on my perceptions as opposed to fact.

For this reason, I apologize in public for any embarrasment I may have caused you or anyone else by my actions.
