I just learned today on the Christopher Barrass Facebook page that his mother, the famous film extra, Ann Barrass, died in November 2017.

Among her many works, she played in The Avengers.

Thinking about my extraordinary Mum, Ann Barrass, who died last week unexpectedly, leaving our family in a state of shock.
She was an exceptional woman who managed to be a wife, mother, ballerina, model, actress and traveller.
My new cover photo is of her 82nd birthday in 2012 (Google 'Ann Barrass' to see earlier pix of her).
She had walk-on parts in more than 600 films, television episodes and advertisements, and travelled to virtually every country in the World - from Argentina to Kenya and Egypt, from Australia to Iraq and Iran - always passionate about local people and cultures.
She was on the commercial ship that went the furthest South, breaking into Antarctica's ice locked seas to experience the glaciers and Scott's hut, and backpacked in the Andes when 78.
Recent years had not been kind to her health, but there was never any doubting her strength of character and personality which had always seen her through tough encounters, including being shot in Los Angeles (the bullet was so close to her spine the doctors refused to operate on it and she will go to her grave with it still lodged in her body).
Yet she never let this stop her from continuing travelling, meeting people of all types and chatting to complete strangers in unusual places.
She was also passionate about wild life, trekking in jungles, deserts and prairies around the World, supporting charities and even adopting Cheetahs in Africa.
When she smiles she lit up the room, and few who met her forgot her.
She leaves my Dad, my brother Tim, me and three grandchildren - Julian, James and Charles - in a World in which a very bright light has just gone out.

My Mum on her 82nd birthday with my Dad, our sons James and Charles, my brother Tim and, of course, Milly The Dog, five years ago. May she rest in peace.

Hmmmm, ballerina huh? She's not our mystery woman, by any chance?

Well, maybe she was Ann Barrass's friend. Wink
