|
|
Hello everyone,
After a recent query from me, I discovered that there doesn't appear to be a podcast about our favourite subject.
So, in February 2011, theTimeVault podcast will be launching. It's mission is to watch and review all the episodes of The Avengers and all the Hammer films we can lay our hands on as well as continuing the chronological viewing of Doctor Who we started on a previous podcast in 2007! (www.cadmium2.wordpress.com)
So, if you're interested, please have a listen. I know it's some months away yet - and I promise to remind you all nearer the time - but you'll be able to subscribe via iTunes or through the website: http://thetimevault.wordpress.com/
You can join us for comment and discussion on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/TheTimeVault/161904770511837
and follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/timevaultpod
Hope to see you there!
Best

Thanks everyone. I am very excited. The podcast I have been part of for the last four years has been pretty successful - but has recently ended for a variety of reasons.
This new project will now focus on three of my favourite things. The Avengers, Hammer and Doctor Who.
It's a Feb launch in order that we can get a few 'in the can' before facing the public
[MASSIVE UNSUBTLE HINT COMING UP...]
I'm hoping that you guys will join the facebook group, follow on twitter etc _________________ Paul

Each Avengers podcast will cover two episodes (or we'll be here forever), one from the black and white era and one from the colour era. We will also include The New Avengers (which is a straightforward continuation, just with the word 'New' in the title).
It's early days and we're still putting the recording schedule together but it's looking like the first few Avengers podcasts will be:
Hot Snow (s1) / Bizarre (s6)
Mr Teddy Bear (s2) / From Venus With Love (s5)
Mandrake (s3) / Thingumajig (s6)
The first few Hammer podcasts are looking like:
Quatermass and the Pit, The Vampire Lovers and The Devil Rides Out... _________________ Paul

Hello, Paul,
Sounds interesting! In terms of "reviewing" Avenger episodes what is your foundational base for evaluation? If I reviewed episodes, for example, I'd focus on Steed, and learning new info about him and his past, his relationship to other characters, and such, and then other quirky characters, the plot. Are you doing just general reviews? Are you "grading" the episodes in any way?
Just curious! I wonder if you have any focus that is special to yourself.

Hi Mona,
The format of the podcast is the same as our previous podcast Cadmium2: The Podcast of Cult Britannia (which ran from 2007-2010). We watch the programme in question off air, then record the show which will be a clip followed by our discussion about what we thought of it. It's not scripted, it's off-the-cuff debate, thoughts and opinions. It's spoiler-heavy as our experience has been that the majority of people listening know what we're talking about.
Neither of us claim to be perfect, so we encourage debate on our discussion on the facebook group and blog.
We used to give the films/tv shows we watched marks out of five, however it always seemed a bit pointless really as our opinions were fairly obvious and so we're currently thinking of just saying Watch or Avoid.
It's very early days so the format will probably evolve as we get into the swing of things _________________ Paul
