This is the fourth issue of the early TV Choice published November 26th 1982, which celebrated the Channel 4 reruns of the colour Diana Rigg episodes. This publication was an early attempt at producing a TV listings magazine to rival the monopoly that the TV Times and Radio Times had at the time. Unfortunately, this was not very successful and the publication closed shortly afterwards. I believe that this TV Choice and the TV Choice that is around today were two completely different magazines. Does anyone have any information as to who published the 1982 TV Choice? |

Excellent cover painting, now if the comic covers looked like that then I'd love them. _________________ Last watched: The Man in the Mirror. |

I have read the story of TV Choice on the internet but I can't currently find it again. It was forced out of business by the threat of litigation by the BBC and ITV who at that time claimed the copyright of their schedules and were fiercely protective of their own publications Radio Times and TV Times.
The situation eventually changed when the TV companies were forced to release control of their listings monopoly, but by then it ws too late for TV Choice. You are correct, the current title of the same name has no connection with the original.
If I find the article again I'll post a link. I have a copy of the first issue somewhere but not that Avengers one.
