Does anyone have this book by Chris Bentley? What do you think of it? Did you find it useful in finding some famous Avengers locations? Are there plenty of photos in the book, and are they mostly of the locations or are there photos of the Avengers as well? Thanks, Rich. |

Hi Anthony,
I didn't know about your book, but I've just looked it up on the net. I take it your version came first. Hence, your no comment. Please feel free to let everyone know a bit more! Rich. |

I'd forgotten all about this since I posted it 3 years ago. It's clearly a sensitive issue, though I'm still not sure of the circumstances. Would I be correct in assuming the 'Avengers On location' author borrowed the idea Were lawyers involved I wonder Maybe I'll never find out, but I did find a new copy on amazon about 6 months ago for less than £20. Haven't had time to read it yet, but it's crammed full of location photos from the 60s (with the stars of the show in shot) and how they look today. The locations, not the stars Loads of info too, so although it's possibly treading on the toes of another author I am pleased with the book. Rich. |

Borrowing the idea would be okay - the same publishers already had a Dr Who On Location book with similar work for that series (and that wasn't the first location book for that show, either).
It's whether the author "borrowed" the research as well...
The Amazon prices are set to vary according to availability, so when a book has been off their site for some time the price shoots up.
I have a copy of this one, but I prefer to use Tony's website. _________________ Last watched: Invasion of the Earthmen on ITV4. |

In all fairness, Tony's is the ultimate. It is up to date and as comprehensive as it gets. The other one that I don't own, I have heard is outdated. _________________ "He likes his tea stirred anti-clockwise." |

Anthony Mackay's website is excellent, but Chris Bentley's book has many good things : pictures (some of them are very rare) and historic backgrounds of many shooting places. They complement each other. _________________ Le Monde des Avengers |
