There is a game, now on BBC Radio 6Music's Radcliffe and Maconie show, called 'The Chain':

"The Chain is our never-ending list of records, with every new track somehow connected to the last"

This has imspired me to start an Avengers game called 'The Chain'.

Rules : Post an episode of 'The Avengers' on one line and explain the connection it has to the last episode posted. Any connection allowed, such as a place, person, phrase, actor etc!

Let's start.

The Bird Who Knew Too Much
Game start

Hey, another RadMac fan! Very Happy I love The Chain. I've been on The Chain! What a good idea to do an Avengers version. I'm sure Mark and Stuart would approve. Cool

I'll follow on with the next link.

Angels of Death
Both feature Dinsdale Landen (Watney in Mirrors, Coldstream in Angels)

Death's Door
Steed is nearly killed by an ammo box cartridge in Angels Of Death and kills someone with one in Death's Door.

Death at Bargain Prices
Steed insinuates something about his female partner while perusing lingerie.

Oh yes - stepping outside the Chain for a moment, I love those two episodes' wit. "The chief predator told me that 'our' Mrs Peel was in ladies' underwear... I raced up the steps three at a time" - or something like that! To which Mrs Peel replies "Merry quips department, fourth floor" - my goodness the dialogue sparkles.

I do also like how Cathy had the measure of Steed with her "do you always arrange to take your calls in lingerie shops?" (I paraphrase). Steed: "Whenever humanly possible".

Back to The Chain - to link from Death At Bargain Prices, maybe something to do with the comic characters from Frank Bellamy magazine covers - the Daleks are being stuck to a wall by Emma in Death..., and there's the Frank Bellamy art in The Winged Avenger (Bellamy drew the Daleks for a Radio Times cover, here: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ognmH3g7KYE/SwYjYbnD_PI/AAAAAAAAAC0/JrtjcQgy-A4/s1600/day-of-the-daleks.jpg); here's a bit of his Avengers work for comparison: http://wingedavenger.theavengers.tv/WingedAvenger/WA_images/wa_cover2.jpg

On a recent visit to Wookey Hole Caves I was delighted to see some of Bellamy's poster artwork for a funfair advertisement on the wall - a little bit of Avengerland in my home county Smile

A Sense of History
One Professor, the excentric Poole in the Winged Avenger, links to another - the exercising Professor Acheson.
