I exchanged a couple of emails with David while writing Bowler Hats and Kinky Boots. I also let him know how important The Avengers Forever was and especially to me as the first time I ever went on the internet in my local library that was the first site I went on. And I don't mean first Avengers site I went on, I mean the very first site about anything that I looked at.

David's site was very important to me before I got the dvd's. It was the only chance I had to see images of the Gale episodes. I used to sit for ages oggling the screencaps longing for the day I could see the episodes.

I later contributed a review to The Young Avenger part of the site (I wonder what happened to Joseph A.P. Lloyd) but it later got re-ascribed to Joseph (I think it was the Take Me To Your Leader review). Then I did a few visitor reviews.

Yes, I'm very fond of that website, I still pop by there to remind myself of episode titles to trigger memories if I'm out. I used it yesterday to help jog my memory for a chapter I'm writing for the next Avengers on Film book.

If this is the same Joseph Lloyd (and I think it must be) then he regularly attends the Dead Man's Treasure Hunt event. He has an extremely good knowledge of the episodes, plus the characters and various companies (including abbreviations) in the episodes.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but you could attend the next Dead Man's Treasure Hunt event and meet Joseph.

Not only is the event a celebration of The Avengers, but its also become the place for Avengers fandom to meet up. The regular attendees usually include Andrew Pixley (The Avengers Files), Alan Hayes (With Umbrella Scotch and Cigarettes & The Avengers Declassified website), Chris Bentley (The Avengers on Location) and yours truly.

Well I never say never (apart from when I do), it's certainly something I'd liked to do one year.

It would be so nice to meet you Darren. Do hope you decide to come. It's quite a lot of fun.

Well as I say, one day. I don't drive personally (despite having a driving license, public transport suits me fine:)) but I'm sure I could persuade a friend to go with me, I've one who adores minis so I could use that sixties link as a hook..Smile

It would be lovely to meet everyone. I'll see how next summer pans out.
