Received my copy of the Series 1+2 set, which was all I could afford to import (and still got whacked for customs duty... ho hum...).
A very nice set indeed, though I must admit to being quite taken aback that it was actually coded Region 4 (and not Region 0 like most Australian releases).
Be sure that you can replay multi-region before ordering this or other Madman Avengers sets.
(Fortunately, I can!) _________________ Alan

Still no offer of a replacement disc for the faulty one in this set? |

I started the work on a new page "Australian DVD box of The Avengers (Series 4) 2016" on Steedumbrella.
Based on this, I decided to reorganize the page "Australian DVD box (2016)" in section:
http://steedumbrella.ru/DVD_Australia_2016.html

Great surprise, dear Avengers fans!!!
Actually, there are Brian Clemens and Roy Ward Baker commentaries to episode The Town of No Return on the Madman DVD set. This is a kind of "Easter Egg". Where is it? Well, it is selected only when playing the mentioned episode. Nicely! _________________ Denis |

If anyone is interested I have all five of the Australian volumes for sale £120 plus UK postage.
I only got them for the R4 exclusive material which is excellent so they have only been viewed once. They are all R4 coded though.
PM if you are interested.
thanks

IS this region 1 ? if not, then I'll have to spring for an multi-region dvd player....The UK and beyond releases, seem to be better than the olde A & E dvd issues..and later Lionsgate offerings... |

Lionsgate just blocked all my Venus song videos, claiming to be the copyright holder, which they ARE NOT!!! _________________ Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Sad to hear, given that Lionsgate does not have full rights even for good color Emma Peel prints. They can only re-release the package that was purchased from A&E (that is, old American prints of color Emma Peel episodes) or, with the permission of Studiocanal, to release a new ones. Nevertheless, Studiocanal does not give the right to release other Avengers episodoes by Lionsgate apparently for some specific reason. Isn't it interesting? Australian Madman has the rights to release any Avengers episodes, but Lionsgate is not. Can it be difficult for them to negotiate certain conditions with Lionsgate? _________________ Denis |
