Recently I saw on the Internet this wonderful photo that I had previously noticed on DVD Optimum Season 6 and...

...again remembered our least known actor and stuntman named Joe Farrar (who was also credited as John Farrer and Joe Farrer) thanks to official documents of Mike's book.

Sadly, although he participated in many episodes of the series, his life is still in full secret. Nevertheless, there is some news. Wink

Earlier seemed this stuntman only participated in the Avengers, as I had never seen him anywhere else, but now we know for sureness that he has also been participated in other TV series too. Smile

Page on Moviedude:

Yes, it's still difficult to say how the actor's name is spelled correctly, but I think Joe Farrar is more likely, because in three cases he is mentioned so in the official documents of Mike's book.

credited as Joe Farrer, page 611 (Who's Who???)
credited as Joe Farrar, page 615 (Return of the Cybernauts)
credited as Joe Farrar, page 618 (Dead Man's Treasure)
credited as John Farrer, page 652 (All Done with Mirrors)
credited as Joe Farrar, page 657 (Super Secret Cypher Snatch)

In Super Secret Cypher Snatch, Joe was stunt double for Donald Gee who played Vickers.

Yes, I went through every scene mentioned in Mike's book with Phil Ellis and can confirm the identification is definite (which is why Movie Dude has updated his page, the actor was previously indexed as Unidentified Male 80 by MD).

The only one I couldn't see was the driving double rôle in Who's Who???

Credits from Mike's book:
Driving Double for Tulip in episode Who's Who??? COULDN'T TELL, too much glare on the window
Stunt Double for Chadwick in episode Return of the Cybernauts (Joe's face is easily seen) YES
Stunt Doubles for Alex and Danvers in episode Dead Man's Treasure YES, one of the dark driving scenes at the beginning (Alex), couldn't tell with Danvers, didn't look any further too closely, but it's very likely him for Edwin in every driving scene.
Stunt Doubles for Barlow and Ketteridge in episode All Done with Mirrors (Joe's face is easily seen as stunt for Barlow) YES (both)
Stunt Double for Vickers in episode Super Secret Cypher Snatch YES (when Steed knocks him out)

Good news, Piers. Smile Wonder, were there other identifications through the Mike's book? Wink

Right now I did new study for The Town of No Return, in this time I was able to identify what exactly Joe Farrar was stuntman for Alan MacNaughtan.

Previously I wrote that Joe was possible stunt double for Alan MacNaughtan in episode "The Town of No Return".

A good definition gave the footage where Steed throws Brandon through himself. When Brandon falls on his back, you can see part of stuntman's face (in one frame only the upper part - eyes and nose, in the other frame the bottom part - combining this you will get Joe Farrar).

Joe Farrar

Current result as for b/w episodes with Emma Peel:

stunt double for Patrick Cargill in episode "The Murder Market".
possible stunt double for Bernard Archard in episode "The Master Minds"
stunt double for Edwin Richfield in episode "Too Many Christmas Trees"
stunt double for Alan MacNaughtan in episode "The Town of No Return".
