Actress Anna Quayle died on August 16, aged 86. Sad

https://www.thestage.co.uk/features/obituaries/2019/obituary-anna-quayle-versatile-actor-admired-for-her-dramatic-panache-and-comedic-subtlety/

A universal actress who excellently played various roles, including Russian spy Olga in Avengers episode The Correct Way to Kill (1967).

In Russia, the character Olga, played by Anna Quayle, was one of the most memorable in the series, I know some Russian people who have become Avengers fans since this episode (such as Olga Svecharnik who wrote reviews of episodes for Steedumbrella).

Huge loss. This day is mourning for me. Sad

Thanks Denis. I missed hearing this. She was a great comic actor and made The Correct way to kill a classic. RIP.

Anna Quayle began her acting career with the 1960s TV series The Avengers, in which a couple of agents investigated complex cases.

I'm gutted about this. She didn't live that far from me and I always hoped I'd bump into her one day.

Always a favourite actress from when I first saw her in Grange Hill and then realised she was a regular in great hokey films of the 60's like Casino Royale and Smashing Time.

RIP Anna xxx

Amazingly, she also played an "Olga" in my fave camp TV series, Mapp & Lucia... (An opera singer called Olga Braceley.) The series was based on the novels by E F Benson. Very funny stuff. Another thought: What would she have made of Ambassador Brodny?

My favourite colour episode, and she was a large part of the reason for that. Also, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the best Ian Fleming and Roald Dahl story ever Smile
