It's funny, I just finished the full work on the section "Performers" for Alan and so could return to the restoration of Steedumbrella since 19 May (tomorrow I would do some correspondence for old "not urgent" messages), but ... recently Alan received a new sheets with a resume of the actors and considering that I still under agreement I have to check it too. Surprise! The sheets contains 29 performers.

On the basis of this, my return to Avengerland is shifted to June (hardly in a month there will be other new sheets with actors to verify the information, since the latter were last year!!!).

The case now lasts a very long time. As before, my task is to carry out a study for these new 29 performers, send the results to Alan, check the information on the site after the update, and after that I can be free - with our agreement coming to an end.

Cheers!!! I just finished work for new sheets with performers for Alan Hayes' website!!! 😃 For my part, it remains to check the spelling for the entire section of the performers and after I will return to Steedumbrella. Yes, first, I will move the website to another hosting. 😉

Thanks for asking, Mousemeat.
Steedumbrella is still offline. I'm finishing work with Alan (right now we are working on corrections for Charles Morgan summary + I already did a spellcheck for half the section "Performers" for Alan's Randall and Hopkirk website). I think I will finish by the end of this week if I do not have forced meetings during this period. Wink

Steedumbrella will gradually come back to life already in the coming days.

Unfortunately, I didnít manage to start the upload of Steedumbrella today as I planned because the hosting administration still did not send me confirmation of my order. If there will no confirmation tomorrow evening, I will go to another hosting. 😉

This happened, dear ladies and gentlemen. Smile I just finished work for Randall and Hopkirk website (although there was no official word from Alan Hayes yet) and since today, July 5, 2020, I begin work on resuscitating the Steedumbrella.

Who would have thought - I started working as an editor of the section Performers on Randall and Hopkirk website from September 15, 2019!!! 😮

http://www.randallandhopkirk.org.uk/who_main.htm

And it ended just now. Itís funny to recall that I assumed that I would complete the work in no more than a month, and actually this would stretch out over a period of more than six months. Laughing I was so deeply rooted in this that in recent weeks I started thinking about ďMaybe I should continue to work with Alan? Why should I go back to Steedumbrella? Stop. What kind of Steedumbrella? I donít remember the whole content of this site and my plans for. Help - I do not want to come back, leave me". Laughing Yes, there was a piece of such thoughts, and I understood that I had to rush to return until I completely lost my enthusiasm for.

How did it happen that I became the editor of the Alan's section Performers at that period when I had a lot of plans for Steedumbrella and I did not think about other projects at all?

This is an interesting question. Now Iím wet my throat a little to tell you. Wink Ha! Why is there a throat? I'm going to write, not tell. Shocked OK... Wink

In third quarter of 2019, I was busy uploading the scans of the contents of individual DVD boxes to the Steedumbrella - there was a lot of work, since I had to scan the same material several times to get the best result and manually remove defects when scanning images. Moreover, at the end of August I received The Avengers: The Cybernauts Trilogy and I had new material for further work. I did not know when I would finish this to go on to other things in my plans for Steedumbrella.

Suddenly, on September 3, 2019, I received an email from Alan in which he asked me to help him with the section Eurogames 2019 of his website dedicated to popular Europe-wide television game show.

http://www.jsf.hiddentigerbooks.co.uk/index.htm

I conducted research in Russian-language materials on the Internet making sure that finding the need information even in Russian was really difficult. Nevertheless, something was found and Alan and I began to parse the material at the same time nostalgic for the old days. This played a significant role, since when the topic of the site of Randall and Hopkirk was touched, I told Alan that there are two old "things" that I would like to do for the site - one of them is to edit the section Performers to improve the quality of the material. It is curious that the topic of "the second thing for the site on my part" was not at all discussed, even in the future (here I had in mind of the section "World television premieres" which would decorate the site from my point of view).

Thus, initially I made a superficial edition of the entire section Performers, and soon it became clear to Alan and me that the section needed a much deeper analysis and editing than anyone could have imagined. So the wheel spun.

Today I will upload the first pages and shortly after that back to this forum. Wink

Steedumbrella's homepage has changed a bit, you will see it soon when changes in root DNSs take effect.

Strange, I did a test through hosting Fornex (former hosting for Steedumbrella) to check how quickly they change DNSs for a domain - it was very fast and everything works. But the domain steedumbrella.ru still not functional at the new hosting.

I wrote to the new hosting service.

The problem is that they provided me with a temporary domain before activation, but that did not work too. Shocked Nightmare. Iím starting to think that if my domain doesnít work tomorrow, I will go back to the hosting Fornex, where the site has existed for a long time. Iím tired with the topic "study of different hostings" for the interests of the prospective development of Steedumbrella. Iíd rather pay more money for the tariff, than experience any uncertainties or think ďhow much the hosting advertisement matches the realityĒ.

I apologize, friends. Therefore, Steedumbrella is still offline and it already looks like an anecdote. Very Happy

If you were previously using Cloudflare or something similar to cache your content and make it faster, you will need to change the IP details in the DNS setup *there* instead of just relying on your host.

Piers, thanks. Yesterday I changed IP details in DNS settings of registrator, I am still waiting. Fornex works faster - I tested and the domain was already
in half working condition on their hosting. The domain on Unlim365 still does not work. I will wait until tomorrow. Wink

The pricing policy is not much different from the current and previous hosting. When I went to a new hosting - it was 65 rubles in advertising (I already guessed what meant the monthly fee when paying for the year), but when you pay less than that - it is twice as expensive. The hosting is young and there are not many reviews about.

I already decisively decided that tomorrow I will go back to Fornex (in this case, I will buy 10 gigabytes) if the situation with the new hosting will be the same as now. Wink Piers, again, thank you for all the advices and help.

While I was waiting for DNS settings of registrator (to work on resuscitation of Steedumbrella, moved to new hosting), I decided to update the topic The Avengers: living and possibly living performers:

http://avengersfanforum.s2.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=3781

Despite now the domain already has been active on the new hosting for several days, before I get back to Steedumbrella, I will update the topic TNA: living and possibly living performers
