As an avid Avengers/New Avengers collector, I regularly scour eBay for goodies.
In the last 3/4 days, I’ve seen 3 Purdey dolls being sold by different sellers.
We all know how rare these are and I’m highly suspicious of all of them.
What do people think?? Is it possible to produce fake dolls ???
Beware!!!! |

yes...but it ultimately depends on the market for the item and how ' big ' the return would be when selling...so yeah, they could be ' fakes '...or some actual dolls came up for sale....Wondering if the three dolls, might have belong to one seller...probably not...in regards of the asking price...and whether or not, it'll be a good purchase, you can't put a price on pleasure...when it relates to a hobby etc |

The three dolls were listed separately from different sellers and two of them disappeared and then reappeared the same day.
No boxes or original outfits.
I’m just highly suspicious when you consider how rare they are.
Personally I only want original stuff, although I make an exception with the dinky jag for obvious reasons. |

I've seen this kind of thing happen a lot with car badges. There is a strong collectors market for them, and sometimes a rare one will come up on eBay attracting a good price. A week or so later another will appear from a different seller and when that has sold yet another will turn up.
The fakers simply use the eBay pictures from the first, genuine, listing to reproduce poor imitations. I've no doubt the same thing goes on with other memorabilia. |

especially vintage car items...like for MG's and Triumph's...once in an while, would see bogus items for Corvairs, and Fieros.....but not as much, as both of them have some decent third party vendors producing OEM items... |
