I booked my tickets for the gathering at Chichester University a few days ago, and I'm eagerly looking forward to it! Since I'm going all the way from Sweden I thought it'd be nice to visit some Avengerland places at the same time. Aldbury instantly comes to mind, as well as that iconic bridge at Tykes Water Lake. I've been trying to find some more information on this bridge and its area, and from what I understand it's private property. Is there any way to get access? Is there anyone you can contact?

Any help would be most appreciated! Very Happy

http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/Member-Watford-t877482.html

If you look down this angling forum thread for the picture of the lake, there is some information (just above) about the owner of this private property and someone who knows about the angling club that fishes it. It may be difficult to visit and I read elsewhere that the actress Deborah Watling had to get special permission to re-visit this popular TV filming location. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the info, Rhonda. Seems to be difficult gaining access to the area, but perhaps it's worth a try...

Just to bump this topic.
I have never visited Tykes Water (although I have been in the field next to it), and would love to visit.
It has always seemed quite difficult to get permission.

But I have found a solution.

Home Farm Glamping, Aldenham, Herfordshire, are situated next to Tykes Water, and guests are issued with a lanyard which allows them to visit Tykes Water Bridge and the area nearby.

They have a promotional video on You Tube.

Hope this helps.

Check out this superb video on Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir Youtube channel.

It shows nearly all the times Tykes Water Lake appeared in the show with graphics to show where about it was filmed.

It remains very difficult to visit (rightly so, in my opinion) and the angling society that are now the custodians on behalf of the estate now ask for a donation when we visit there during the Dead Manís Treasure Hunt event - which weíre more than happy to do as they are preserving something very special. Obviously we couldnít visit last year but itís the one place that remains completely untouched from the time of filming and is always a thrill to visit.
