We're so very sad to learn that actor and composer Ron Pember has passed away.
It was such a joy to work with Ron and his lovely wife Yvonne on the debut CD release of Ron's musical 'Jack the Ripper'. We'll always cherish those wonderful meetings we had together discussing the album.
Sending best wishes to Yvonne and Ron's family.

It is believed that Ron left on Tuesday.

Oh, some very sad news…
The great Ron Pember passed away on Tuesday.
One of the most wonderful British actors of his time.
I had only just posted a picture of him from
the musical, “Blitz!”, in which he starred with the also great Diane Langton. I played his son and he was indeed like a Dad to me and to all the cast. Kind, gentle, generous onstage and just lovely off. It always made me smile to think how nervous I was to work with him, remembering him from when I was a kid watching all those tv shows in the 1970’s. But a grand old thespian was the last thing he wanted to be. We were all equal to him (as it should always be but rarely is in this daft business of opportunists and aspirations only for 15 minutes of fame) -
- but to us, he was a leader. A leader through his incredible work, his disregard for pretense and his love for all he spent time with.
RIP you marvelous man! We love you.

Pember had a career that any jobbing actor would love to have - he worked solidly throughout the 60's, 70's and 80's. Were it not for suffering a stroke in the early 90's I'm sure he would have kept going.

RIP Ron xxx
