Excellent, it works really well. Now I can visualise the characters in the scenes instantly. Wish I'd had this facility when listening to the Big Finish lost episodes plays. Could be an excuse for a re-listen!

It may not be required for all the other seasons where all episodes exist; I don't know how often everyone watches the series but I did it so often in my youth that practically every actor is seared into my brain!

Excellent! I'll start rolling the change out across all episodes. Might take me a while...

Good changes, Piers. It is very convenient now to see not only the name but also performer's image right on the story page. I'm stuck on the first Avengers episode clicking through the images. Razz

All of series 1 now updated with the enhancement - enjoy your BigFinish rerun, Franky!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I'm updating series 2 at the moment to be more like series 1 and will add these changes in to the update.

Should have done it years ago!

(Note that there are some minor characters not called out by name, and unknown actors, that will not be in the plot pop-ups; they remain in the cast list page.)

25 April 2022

After a long four months, I now bring you Series 2 completely rewritten to match Series 1, with TV Times and Australian newspaper listings, scripts, plus updated cast photos (and corrections to the cast lists to remove repetition and some unnoticed duplicates).

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I watched them all again!

Iíve also added cast photo links throughout the plot summaries across series 2, as well as the ability to show or hide the names of the actors playing the characters in the plot summaries across the whole site.

I've also moved all the audio of Venus' songs to SoundCloud.

It's great to see such a block of updates, Piers, I took a quick look. It will be especially interesting to study the updates in the actors section, hope I will do this in detail either at the end of the month or the beginning of the next.

Now I am in the music field, I didn't plan it for this period, but a music producer I studied with as a teenager is now on vacation and asked if I could prepare a few songs for the record, which I do - I'm very out of touch with The Avengers in recent days.

Wowee!! This might get me watching again - I've sort of paused during Series 3 due to work and a couple of real-life issues. It will be wonderful to check up on "the story so far", especially given how excellent the series 1 pages are, I expect a fun and enlightening ride!

P.S. Checking up on underrated gem Six Hands Across a Table, detail page, it says "Reed de Rouen appeared as Jack Dragna in The Removal Men and was script editor for some of Series 1." Is it worth mentioning he appears in (and is in fact first in the cast list for) The Far Distant Dead, a Keel-only series 1 episode?

Chuckled at the Benny Hill footnote.

Next to the TV Times Listing and the ABN channel listing is another smaller one, do you know what paper this is from? It may be worth naming it (and similar others) as it's just labelled "TV Times listing" for that section. Not that anyone is likely to get confused as even this mole of very little brain realised it wasn't from the TV Times.

Good point re Reed, I have that info on the The Far Distant Dead page, of course... fixing it now.

Newspaper clippings are TV Times, Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age.
I had put alt tags but forgotten to change my auto-titling code, which is now done, so a hover over will tell you what they are now.
Maybe I should put captions in as well..

Nothing special in these days, Piers, the genre can be called acoustic folk pop (solo performance). Here is a sample from what I played yesterday. It is planned that this Friday will be the last entry.

I've changed the alt and title tags to a nifty caption below each newspaper cutting to make it easier, you might have to refresh your cache to see the change though.

denis... it was mousemeat who asked about the music, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Ha, this shows that I'm strongly distracted not only from The Avengers. Laughing

I'm quite enjoy with this music and apparently one of the first things to do when I get back to Avengerland will be listening to Venus' songs on SoundCloud. Wink I just registered on SoundCloud today. Smile

Thanks, that looks great!

Yes, Seabrook (Philip Madoc) really is Machiavellian, a suitable role for him as he does it so well. Some top billing in the TV Times as well. Always nice to see him, especially his ambiguous characters. You never quite know what he's going to do next.

I love Philip Madoc, he has a true actor's voice. Here, he still has a hint of Welsh in his accent.
He's always wonderfully devious, such a consummate actor.

I've now also done a plot summary/full plot toggle test, let me know what you think and if it's worth pursuing.
I'm mindful of the fact that my new plot layouts are much more of an investment in my readers' time!
