This looks absolutely marvellous, was questioning whether or not to buy the new releases having already bought the episodes on the Contender releases but with everything going for these it has to be worth it.

I know your first comment was in jest, but it's important at this stage to stress that there are more extras still to be confirmed.

The artwork is one of the best Avengers DVD covers I have ever seen. Steed and Cathy looking very cool on a cool blue background.

Well stylish comes closer to it then classy, but as said it's predominantly cool. Which is a good thing for season three.

In my excel file with all Avengers episodes I gave each season a colour code, I think I maybe will reassign the colours according to the Optimum DVD boxes.

Really looking forward to these commentaries (especially the Brian Clemens one on Brief for Murder - which resulted in him being made an honorary member of some organisation). Isn't it director Jonathan Alwyn rather than scriptwriter.

Having Richard Bates on The Grandeur That Was Rome is a good idea, not an episode I can get through easily but this will certainly make it palatable.

Shame that Peter Hammond hasn't contributed to any of the sets - but it was always a long shot as he doesn't seem to want to talk about his work.

Thanks, Darren. Fixed. A victim of hurried cut-and-pasting, I imagine.

Avenging the Avengers was a 25-minute documentary made for Channel 4 in the UK. When it was released on VHS, there was an additional 9 minutes of unused interview footage added on at the end. "Extended" refers to this footage - so yes, it has been released before.

Avenging the Avengers is the Avengers themed episode of Without Walls with added extra unused bits of interview added.

The original Without Walls also features Leonard White (although I'm not 100% sure it was him) speaking twice. These two bits are cut from Avenging the Avengers.

Just something I noticed and thought might interest you.

The only differences between Avenging the Avengers and the Without Walls original is the absence of Leonard White interview footage on the home video version (withdrawn at his request, as he was unhappy with how he was portrayed). The extra interview footage lasts about 9 minutes and has previously been tacked on the end of the programme on VHS and DVD releases. The version on the Optimum edition will follow this pattern, I understand. There is no additional footage within the programme itself.
