I've never seen this before! Shocked I also wasn't aware they were advertising Steed's wardrobe in any real capacity back in the Cathy era. What a find, Denis! I hope whoever wins it takes good care of it. Cool

Yes, Jay, I was struck by a godsend too. Shocked
Advertising display sign, created with a soul.
Many will be interested to know that in the era of Cathy Gale had similar things. This one I should was publish here. Smile
Hopefully, that will get in a good hands (I believe, almost without doubt). Wink

Hepworths? Crikey, they were still around when I was first in the market for suits.

Steed's outfits should always be by... Himself!

I agree. I wouldn't necessarily trust ebay on these kinds of items.

I thought Steed's outfits were by Pierre Cardin?

Pierre Cardin didn't start designing for Steed until the Emma era. This was from the Cathy era.

Oh, I've no doubt it's genuine. We haven't heard a lot about Patrick's fashions being marketed pre-Emma era, but this looks like exactly the low-key type of early move into the industry that would make sense at that point in the show's history, around the time they did that fashion shoot with Patrick and Honor.

The Alan-Hughes designed Emma Peel monochrome era costumes were heavily marketed, and were her colour-era jumpsuits marketed too? In each case, the designer/fashion house (like Cardin in Steed's) may not have been the company that did the mass-selling. But Hepworth's (now Next!) clearly wanted to get on the bandwagon of this fashionable young series that appealed to all the Cheslea set/1960s versions of the Bright Young Things.

I have a Pierre Cardin jacket I rather like though it's not the most durable wear.

Yes, I think there were some Emmapeelers retailed, but you're right, it wasn't always the fashion house that was selling them. John Bates' Jean Varon did, but a lot of other Emma clothes were done by different companies.
