In recent weeks, I decided to return to a section "TV broadcasting" on Russian site, to check out the links on the performance. In the process of correcting some of them due to the change of URL of sites, I added a few pages by new information. One of surprising new discovery was in area "TV premieres in Sweden".

According to Wikipedia, six episodes of The Avengers were bought by Swedish Television in 1969, but since the series was considered too violent, run was interrupted after a second episode.

Although it was easily to find the dates and times of the broadcasting of these two episodes and belonging to the season, but at the time to learn of the names seemed impossible - Swedish newspapers that I was studying, simply indicate the programms in the TV schedule with no additional information about them.
In last years appeared the Swedish newspaper archive site, where have information to certain programs, but in online you can study the fragments of newspaper content only by keywords in a search engine and earlier, when I was doing research there twice through time, I could not find anything interesting - material that I was able to find, indicated the same sort of information, where it was clear only that these are some color episodes with Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg.

This was caused a major problem for the section, as in 1995, the entire fifth season was shown on Swedish cable TV channel ZTV. Rolling Eyes

However... at this time, I decided analyzing of the articles choosing different keywords at random and soon came to the following results:

One article mentioned that the Swedish television channel TV1 (main in country) bought five episodes of the series. Confused
Yes, it's difficult to choose between Wikipedia and an article in the newspaper, to decide on the point about the number of purchased episodes for Swedish TV. Confused

The first TV episode aired in Sweden was "The See-Through Man".
Start has been chosen unsuccessfully, a journalist in the newspaper mentions that a-la the squall of negative criticism was rose to the show from the audience, which has already given occasion to finish the The Avengers test. Negative emphasis was on outdated jokes in a flat style, infantile story and cruelty.

After, TV1 decided to give the series another chance and went on the air ... episode "Mission... Highly Improbable".
The next day, a television critic wrote a-la: "yesterday was a problem with the Lilliputians - children like it".
The end of The Avengers in Sweden until 1995.

Sad Unfortunately, it's shining example, how the order of episodes affect the feedback and opinion about the series as a whole.
