Emma Peel has an stand-in? Shocked
Why I've never heard of her?
(Because I'm very dozy...)

Yes, she was Brian Clemens' girlfriend and sadly committed suicide in 1976. I've only read a couple of articles on Diane Enright but no pictures or whatsover about her in the different books or websites dedicated to the series contrary to Cyd Child and Rocky Taylor. I've read she refused to drive quicky on the shooting of Dead Man's Treasure and Cyd Child did the driving.

There is indeed very little about her around. It's been said her death was one of the reasons the mood of TNA was generally darker, with a heavy emphasis on loss, because Clemens' mindset was (understandably) pretty dark when he was writing it.

Mousemeat, nothing must be eluded to fully understand the series! Thanks, Timeless A-Peel for this information.

I'm pretty sure that mousemeat means that suicide is a waste, not your query for information.

Yes, I think that's what mousemeat was meaning. It is, indeed, very sad. Sad

And as for the info, no problem at all! I've always thought that it must have had some sort of impact on his outlook at the time. I wouldn't be surprised if it accounts for all the loss/betrayal of old friends storylines that seemed to dominate the series.

Cyd calls her "Diane West" in the commentary she did for "Return of the Cybernauts".

Just now for the first time I studied one of call sheets for a movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Date: 9 October, 1968
Scene: Artistes' Make-up tests

Diane Enright as stand-in for Diana Rigg. Shocked Here is how!!! Great Surprise!!!

Moreover, this is the first time I see Diane's work outside the Avengers series.

I found another call sheet for the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Date: 8 April 1969

Confirmation that Diana Rigg's stand-in also took part directly in the filming of this James Bond film, not only in tests for. I wonder if Diane Enright (West) went to work with Diana Rigg on other film and TV projects too. Confused

Conducted new research for Diane's biographical information.

Earlier I wrote the following:

Full name: Diane Margot Enright (umm, guess, West is married name or pseudonym)
Birth year: ca. 1933
Died on 5 July 1976 in Chelsea, London, UK

Now come to new discoveries:

Although the full name of Diane for the period known to us is Diane Margot Enright, it is not her birth name. Perhaps her birth name was Diane Margot Burton (I'm still not sure).

Born: 10 August 1933
Died on 5 July 1976 in Chelsea, London, UK

Married to Patrick Enright in 1954.
