It might be worth putting a question, here: http://blogs.chi.ac.uk/theavengers/event-info/faq, asking about the cost of autographs - there's no indication that a charge will be made. I've been to many conventions where the guests do not charge extra for autographs.

I put a question on there last week but that was when the website changed, e-mailed them yesterday but am still waiting for a reply.
I could do with the start and finish times, if it doesn't start to early I might be able to get an early train and save money on a room.
Anyone on here going to this?

Just booked for the full weekend, now got to work out how to pay for it!
Sounds like the first interview panel starts at 9.30 so might be able to catch the early train.
Any other takers for this event?

Paul O'Grady just gave the event a good plug on his Radio 2 show. Smile

I just came here to say the same--you beat me to it.

You can hear it yourself:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00zh446

It starts around 17 minutes. There's a very funny anecdote about a shopkeeper assuming Paul himself was in the series. "Who did he think I was? Purdey?" Laughing

I loved it when Paul said that Pat Macnee was the only person who looked good in a bowler. Paul then said that when he tried a bowler on it looked like he should be selling flour. Laughing

For those of you outside the UK who don't get that reference, a company called Homepride (who make flour) use little cartoon bowler-hatted characters to promote the product:-

"Graded grains make finer flour!"

Fred the Homepride Man takes me back. I read up that he's been going since 1965.

Do you remember who used to voice the TV adverts? Avengers connection ...

Does anyone know what Joanna's working on in the States that's keeping her from attending the event?

Helen Hill has created this video and is hoping to get it to Paul O'Grady. She wants to know if anyone here could get it to him faster then via snail mail. If so, please contact her directly. If you do not have her contact information, send me a pm and I'll put you in contact with her.
